The present invention relates to a vehicle roof with a roof opening () and with a roof section () having a roof tip () pointing to the front of the vehicle () and a roof end () pointing to the rear of the vehicle (). The roof section () can be moved along guide tracks (), which run on both sides of the roof opening, out of a closed position, which closes the roof opening (), into an open position, which at least partially opens up the roof opening. In order to optimize the vehicle roof to the effect that, in the partially open position and/or during the opening movement while under way, only very low travelling noises, if any at all, are produced and the highest requirements with regard to the sealing in the closed position are met, the opening movement from the closed position of the roof section begins with a movement of the roof end () into a lowered position below the roof opening ().

A cabriolet vehicle with a combined convertible top-luggage stowage space (), of which one partial volume constitutes a the convertible top stowage volume () and another partial volume constitutes a luggage stowage volume which borders the convertible top stowage volume (), has a checking device () for checking the convertible top stowage volume (). The checking device has a movement element () that can be moved along a boundary () which separates the convertible top stowage volume () from the luggage stowage volume and which can be remotely controlled. The movement element is driven by a drive device () and is provided with sensors () such that, during the motion of the movement element () preparatory to stowage of a hard top convertible roof, the presence of articles which project from the luggage stowage volume into the convertible top stowage volume () can be detected.

In a cabriolet motor vehicle () with a foldable roof, especially a foldable hardtop (), with a rigid rear window () which is movable between a closed position in which it covers the vehicle interior, and a stowage position in which it is held in the stowage space () in the vehicle (), the hardtop () has a front roof part () which can be connected to a transverse roof support () which borders the windshield and a rear roof part () which can be moved relative to it and which is coupled to it. Furthermore, the rear window () is made on a rear window element () which can be moved relative to the vehicle body and relative to the rear roof part ().

In a roof arrangement for a convertible with a fixed roof part ( ), a rigid rear part ( ), and a storage compartment ( ) for the folding top located in the rear area of the body ( ) for holding the roof arrangement ( ) and with a forced control mechanism ( ) for opening and closing the roof arrangement ( ) such that to open the roof arrangement ( ), first the rear part ( ) is swung over the roof part ( ) and then the roof part ( ) together with the rear part ( ) stacked over it is swung into the storage compartment ( ) for the folding roof, the forced control mechanism ( ) has a single lever ( ) which is located between the rear part ( ) and the rear body ( ) and which is connected by one end side via the first pivot joint ( ) to the rear part ( ) and is coupled by the other end side to the body ( ).
