A self-cleaning conduit for a hydrocarbon fluid. The conduit includes a tube and a mesh. The tube has an interior surface defining a flow passage for the hydrocarbon fluid. The mesh is positioned within the flow passage to abut the interior surface and movable along the interior surface to break-up deposits on the interior surface. The mesh is characterized by a mesh activation parameter (MAP) from one ten thousandths to six tenths.

Self-cleaning conduits for hydrocarbon fluids

A self-cleaning conduit for a hydrocarbon fluid. The conduit includes a tube and a movable sleeve. The tube has an interior surface defining a flow passage for the hydrocarbon fluid. The movable sleeve is positioned within the flow passage to abut the interior surface and is movable along the interior surface in response to a change in an operating characteristic of the conduit to break-up deposits on the interior surface.

Systems and techniques that facilitate detecting fuel in oil, lube degradation, and foreign object contamination through optical and/or color characterization are provided. A signature component can generate a digital signature corresponding to a lubricant in a lubrication circuit of an engine. The digital signature can be based on optical or visual properties of a sensor array coupled to the lubrication circuit and exposed to the lubricant, wherein the optical or visual properties of the sensor array can depend on a health of the lubricant. An analysis component can characterize the health of the lubricant by comparing, via a machine learning algorithm, the digital signature with a baseline digital signature corresponding to a desired health-level of the lubricant. In some embodiments, a light emitter component can emit a first light onto the sensor array, and a light receiver component can receive a second light emitted by the sensor array in response to the first light. The signature component can then generate the digital signature based on the first light and the second light. In some embodiments, an image capture component can capture an image of the sensor array. The signature component can then generate the digital signature based on the captured image.

Methods and apparatus for detecting fuel in oil, lube degradation, and fob thru optical and color characterization

A bearing system is configured to surround a rotor along a circumferential direction corresponding to the rotor. The rotor is extended along an axial direction co-directional to a centerline axis of the rotor. The bearing system includes a body from which a plurality of first support members is each extended, and wherein the plurality of first support members is spaced apart from one another along the circumferential direction. Each first support member includes a first axial support arm extended along the axial direction and a first radial support arm extended from the first axial support arm along a radial direction. The first radial support arm is configured to position a bearing element in contact with a bearing surface at the rotor.

An apparatus and method for determining lubrication contamination or deterioration in an engine or a lubricant system of an engine can include at least one sensor provided in the lubricant system. The sensor can sense an aroma of a lubricant or the air around the lubricant to measure a chemical composition or an aromatic. The sensed chemical composition or aromatic can be compared to a baseline or threshold to determine a particular contamination type or deterioration level of the lubricant.
