In order to realize the electric contacting of two parallel printed boards, the invention proposes a printed board connector that features coaxial plug modules realized in the form of pin and socket contacts. For this purpose, it is proposed that the two plug modules have such a design that they can be turned and tilted about their central mating axis within a certain range on the printed board in order to compensate misalignments or deviations between the positions of the printed boards relative to one another. It is furthermore proposed to realize certain distances between the printed boards by means of plug modules of different lengths on the pin side.

Pivoting printed board connector

In order to produce a plug-type connection between two circuit boards that are arranged parallel to one another, the invention proposes a coaxially designed connector that is simultaneously realized in the form of a hermaphroditic contact. This means that only one surface-mountable connector element is required which can be mated with a second connector element of identical design. The two collar-shaped connector elements () to be mated can be inserted into one another by means of notches () that are provided in the collar () for this purpose. The connector element () to be manufactured by means of injection moulding and the MID-technique preferably features a square, collar-shaped base body () with an electrically conductive coating and a separate electric signaling contact () that is arranged in insulating fashion in a contact holder () within the base body () such that effective shielding is also realized for the transmission of high frequency signals.

Circuit board connector for two parallel circuit boards

In order, to transmit differential signals between two printed boards, there is provided a printed board connector comprising an insulating connector housing and disk-shaped modules that contain electric contact elements and are arranged in the connector housing, wherein modules featuring signaling contacts and modules featuring shielding contacts are alternately arranged adjacent to one another. In this case, the shielding module is realized in such a way that signaling contact pairs arranged on top of one another are also at least regionally shielded relative to one another.
