An Anti-Terrorism water quality monitoring system for continuously monitoring a potable water treatment system and related potable water distribution network that provides potable water to a municipality, city, housing development or other potable water consumer. The system includes the collection of data from the water distribution system and from the water treatment facility and from advanced separation processes which are integrated into analytical instruments. The data collected are stored in a remote database on a remote server computer or bank of computers and accessible by Homeland Security or its designated agency. Preferred parameters of monitoring include the turbidity and disinfectant such as chlorine, hypochlorous acid, sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite, ozone, chlorine dioxide, chloramines, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid.

Water monitoring system

A method of monitoring advanced separation and/or ion exchange processes through the collection of localized data. The data is manipulated to generate preconfigured performance, maintenance, quality assurance, quality control, regulatory, cost reports, performance graphing and historical trends. The data is collected from sensors located at an equipment site and transferred to a remote located by use of the Internet, further all data received and used for generation of reports is also accessible by Internet connection.

Anti-terrorism water quality monitoring system

A method for monitoring the composition and flow rate of wastes discharged from industrial waste water treatment facilities into a common collection system for eventual processing at central waste water treatment plant (WWTP). The information is transmitted to a remote computer and stored in a database, and is then analyzed to prepare reports of particular interest to the receiving WWTP or treatment facility. The system includes a data collection and sending unit, a remote Internet Server computer with a database capable of receiving and storing the collected information, and a web server and reporting unit to analyze the data, prepare reports, and send out alarms. It is a further intention of this invention to correlate the incoming data from said industrial waste water treatment plants with known flows and compositions at said central WWTP to predict the flow and composition of influx water at the WWTP.

System for monitoring discharges into a waste water collection system

The present invention provides a remote monitoring system for monitoring the operation of a fluid treatment system and/or the qualities, characteristics, properties, etc., of the fluid being processed or treated by the fluid treatment system. The system includes a remote computer that may be associated with a database that accesses data transmitted from the fluid treatment system with the data collected, acquired, etc., from one or more sensors placed in the fluid treatment system for measuring fluid quality and/or equipment operation in a fluid treatment system. The remote computer may then analyze or manipulate the data to generate an analysis result or analysis report that may be sent or communicated along with the data and/or any historical or expected information or data to a remote viewing device for viewing by a user. A method is further provided for the operation of the remote monitoring system of the present invention.

Carbon Dioxide capture processes utilizing ammonia, or ammonia in water as the capture fluid for carbon dioxide generate concentrated solutions of ammonium carbonate species in water, which are subsequently decomposed to capture the carbon dioxide and recycle the ammonia. Forward osmosis processes utilize ammonium carbonate species as draw solutions to pull water from saline solutions such as seawater in the ammonium carbonate solution. The ammonium carbonate solution is then heated to decompose the ammonium carbonate to ammonia and CO2 which are both reused, while a portion of the aqueous stream is recovered as pure water. Combination of carbon capture process with an integrated forward osmosis process provide great economies over standalone operations. Furthermore, the very high concentrations of ammonium carbonate provide a further opportunity to include osmotic power recovery cycles with the integrated forward osmosis and carbon capture process.

Method for combining desalination and osmotic power with carbon dioxide capture

The present invention provides for Troika acids attached to a macroporous resin and Methods of preparing the same, including direct attachment of a Troika acid, and attachment of a Troika acid precursor followed by generation of the Troika acid in situ. Methods of functionalizing a resin to facilitate attachment are also described. Multiple Troika acids, comprising a pair of Troika acids joined together are described. Synthetic routes to both microporous and macroporous resins modified by introduction of a suitable Troika-type acid have been designed and validated. In a preferred embodiment, a macroporous Troika resin removes Cuand Nifrom aqueous solution with high affinity, and is selective against Mgor Ca. The materials of the present invention have advantages for metal removal from power plant waste water.

The data is manipulated to generate preconfigured performance, maintenance, and quality assurance reports and further provide automatic submission of data as required for regulatory review of certain water treatment systems such as potable water treatment. The data is collected from sensors located at an equipment site and transferred to a remote computer located by use of the Internet, further all data received and used for generation of reports is also accessible by Internet connection and be delivered directly to the regulatory agency without additional process.
