An unmanned vehicle (UV) navigation system is provided. The UV navigation system comprises a processor, a communication interface for communicating with a remote station, and a non-transitory memory device storing machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to navigate the UV. The processor is configured to receive data from sensors, camera or data line for UV processor analysis, determine that a link-free trigger event has occurred, and autonomously navigate the UV in response to the trigger event.

Systems and methods for autonomous navigation and computation of unmanned vehicles

Embodiments described herein relate to an autonomous emergency system (EMS) for UAVs and UMVs. The autonomy of the emergency system enables the vehicle to self-detect that it is in an emergency state (autonomous detection). When vehicle detects the emergency state the vehicle is configured to implement an improved autonomous emergency system process. The vehicle triggers autonomous state change, and controls its operation (auxiliary, power levels, and so on). The vehicle has beacons to emit pulses over time intervals to communicate with specific vehicles. For example, when known, friendly, other vehicles come into a specific radius, the EMS detects the friendly vehicle(s) and sends safe signals. The EMS implements a pairing communication process based on pre-establish configurations and protocols.

Secure system for emergency-mode operation, system monitoring and trusted access vehicle location and recovery

A system is provided comprising a control station for remotely controlling unmanned aerial vehicles ('UAV'). The control station is configured to display vehicle status data received from each UAV, including displaying a location of each UAV in a single interface. Through the single interface, the control station may receive a control command input associated with one of the UAVs. The control station may transmit the received control command, or a command derived therefrom, to the respective UAV. The single interface may provide for a user to view and control flight operation of each of the UAVs independently through the single interface.

System and method for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles

A wireless mobile communication device includes a first processor configured to execute a software application and a second processor configured to manage wireless communication over a wireless network. The processors are located in the same communication device and configured for one of the processors to send data to the other processor under a protocol. In accordance with this protocol, if the sending processor does not receive a receipt acknowledgement for the sent data from the other processor before the end of a resend time period measured from when the data was sent, then the sending processor resends the data to the other processor after the end of the resend time period. However, the sending processor does receive the acknowledgement before the end of the resend time period, then the sending processor does not resend the data to the other processor.

Multiple-processor wireless mobile communication device

A processor and method are provided for decoding a multimedia file having video and audio data streams that are configured to be played in synchronization. Frames of the video stream are decoded and played with the audio and, to compensate for saturation of the processor usage, two procedures are performed. The first procedure operates at a first periodic interval and slows down the frame rate to reduce processor usage if needed. The second procedure first attempts to speed up the video to catch up to the audio if they are out of sync and if this cannot be done in the next time interval, the decoding of a select number of frames is skipped such that the video and audio data streams are resynchronized.

System and method for providing a variable frame rate and adaptive frame skipping on a mobile device

A method for use in enabling a mobile communication device for communication involves establishing communication with an IEEE 801.11 device which is configured to operate as an access point; while communicating with the IEEE 801.11 device: participating in an authentication procedure with the IEEE 802.11 device; after positive authentication from the authentication procedure, participating in a provisioning procedure with the IEEE 802.11 device for receiving information for programming in the mobile communication device; and communicating with use of the programmed information in the mobile communication device.

Secure provisioning methods and apparatus for mobile communication devices operating in wireless local area networks (WLANs)

The described embodiments relate generally to methods, systems and security devices for authorizing use of a software tool. Certain embodiments of the invention relate to a security device. The security device comprises at least one communication subsystem for enabling communication between the security device and a first external device, wherein the first external device has a software tool executable on the first external device. The security device further comprises a memory and processor coupled to the at least one communication subsystem and configured to control the at least one communication subsystem. The memory is accessible to the processor and stores a key for authorizing use of the software tool. The memory further stores program instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to execute a security application.

The present disclosure describes a method for protecting real-time data exchanged between a mobile electronic device and a VPN gateway over a communications link. The method comprises: establishing a first VPN connection between the mobile electronic device and the VPN gateway through the communications link; establishing, while the first VPN connection is established, a second VPN connection between the mobile electronic device and the VPN gateway through the communications link; providing key information to at least one of the mobile electronic device or VPN gateway through the first VPN connection; and exchanging real-time data packets between the mobile electronic device and the VPN gateway through the second VPN connection, wherein the key information is for encrypting and decrypting the real-time data packets exchanged through the second VPN connection.

Virtual private network for real-time data

A mobile device sends to a message a wireless network. The message indicates a plurality of different protocol types of broadcast messages to be processed as broadcast-to-unicast messages during a low power mode of operation of the mobile device. The protocol type of a given broadcast message is identifiable in a protocol identifier field of the broadcast message. The mobile device maintains its wireless receiver in a powered down state during the low power mode of operation while broadcast messages are broadcasted from the wireless network. For each broadcast message of each said indicated protocol type provided in the message sent to the wireless network, the mobile device monitors to receive via the wireless receiver a unicast message from the wireless network. The mobile device identifies broadcast message information of the broadcast message within the unicast message.

Methods and apparatus for reducing power consumption for mobile devices using broadcast-to-unicast message conversion

One method in a mobile communication device for use in establishing communications between the mobile communication device and a wireless local communication network (WLAN) involves identifying a domain name of the WLAN; performing, in the mobile communication device, a predetermined algorithm with use of the domain name, for creating an extended service set identifier (ESSID) which includes at least a portion of the domain name of the WLAN; and associating with an wireless access point of the WLAN with use of the ESSID for accessing communication services in the WLAN.

A wireless network has a primary network which provides one or more communication services and a provisioning network which provides a provisioning service but disallows the one or more communication services. A mobile device associates with an access point of the wireless network by sending a request which includes a first set service identifier (SSID) for accessing and operating in the provisioning network. If an authentication procedure is successful, the device receives via the access point a second SSID in a provisioning procedure with the provisioning network, and programs the second SSID in a network list. The device subsequently associates with the access point by sending a request which includes the second SSID from the network list instead of the first SSID, for accessing and operating in the primary network for the one or more communication services.

Provisioning methods and apparatus for wireless local area networks (WLANs) with use of a provisioning ESSID

A mobile device operates in a WLAN for VoIP communications, which includes registering with registrar server functionality of a SIP proxy server with a SIP identity which is further communicated to a location server. In response to an incoming voice call from a caller via a telephone network, the mobile device receives an INVITE request which is issued from a gateway and forwarded from the SIP proxy server. The mobile device sends a response to the SIP proxy server which is communicated to the caller via the gateway. When switching from the WLAN to the cellular network, the mobile device sends via the WLAN to the location server a message for forwarding voice calls directed to the SIP identity to the telephone number. The mobile device also sends via the cellular network a message for canceling the forwarding of voice calls directed to telephone number to the SIP identity.

Call forwarding methods and apparatus for mobile communication devices which operate in WWANS and WLANS

Techniques for registering for communications for a communications application stored in a mobile device are described. The mobile device communicates, via a communication network, a request for a connection with a private network. If the connection is established within a predetermined period of time, then the mobile device receives from the private network a first IP address for assignment to the mobile device, and communicates to a server a request for registering for the communications using the first IP address assigned to the mobile device. If the connection is not established within the predetermined period of time, then the mobile device communicates to a server a request for registering for the communications using a second IP address assigned to the mobile device.
