A liquid cooled cable () includes a conductor () with at least two cable strands (). The conductor () is encompassed by a hose () spaced in a sectional view at least partially apart from the conductor () by an interstitial space (). The interstitial space () is arranged between an inner wall () of the hose () and the cable strands () of the conductor (). The interstitial space () conducts a cooling liquid () along the conductor ().

Liquid cooled cable and charging cable assembly

The invention is directed to a cable assembly (-), comprising a cable (-) with a cable hose (-) and at least one conductor (-) arranged therein. The cable hose (-) is spaced a distance apart from the conductor () forming a first interstitial space (-) between the at least conductor () and the cable hose (-). At least one tube (-) for conveying of a cooling fluid (), and a connector () comprising at least one contact member () interconnected to the at least one conductor () and a chamber (). Said chamber () comprises a first port () which is interconnected to the first interstitial space between the at least one conductor (-) and the cable hose (-) and a second port (-) which is interconnected to the at least one tube (-).

A stranded conductor () including a specific number of a first type of wire () which, in cross-section of the stranded conductor, are arranged in a hexagonal pattern around a central wire in at least two layers. The wires arranged at the vertices of the hexagonal pattern are of a second type of wire having in principle a smaller diameter than the first type of wires. The interstitial spaces () between the first and the second wires are filled by a sealing agent ().

Sealed conductor cable

In order to improve visibility and hence to reduce the risk of accidents, a load-carrying rope, for example a wire rope, is equipped with a number of luminous elements. A luminous element may in this case assume the position of a wire or of a braid, may be integrated in an insert, or may be guided in the spaces between wires or braids and preferably within the theoretical rope circumference. The luminous element may also itself be composed of luminous elements which are twisted together, spiralled, or laid in so as to form braids. For strain relief, the luminous elements may be equipped with a reinforcement in the form of a strand, or with a mesh.
