An engine mount for mounting an automotive vehicle engine to the automotive vehicle chassis. The mount comprises a vibration isolator portion which is designed with relatively low stiffness to provide increased vibration isolation. Excessive displacements are avoided by snubbers. Snubbing action in one direction is provided by a circular snubber that is disposed in spaced relation to the vibration isolator portion. Snubbing action in other directions is provided by the particular design of the vibration isolator portion. Embodiments of both a front and a rear engine mount are disclosed.

Engine mount having improved vibration isolation

The system is provided for actively controlling the pitching of a truck cab. The system includes sensors and a single point hydraulic actuator mounted at the rear of the cab between the cab and the frame on which the cab is mounted which is computer controlled and activated in accordance with calculations provided by an algorithm programmed into the controller in response to cab or frame pitch acceleration signals received from the sensors. A feedback circuit is also provided which verifies activation of the actuator in accordance with the calculations provided by the algorithm being run in the controller.

Actively controlled truck cab suspension

An integral exhaust pipe and mounting bracket for use with the engine exhaust system of medium or heavy duty trucks which have a structural framework. A mounting plate is secured to one end of the exhaust pipe and mounted to the structural framework of the truck. The opposite end of the exhaust pipe is oriented generally vertically generally parallel to the wall of the truck cab but otherwise free standing. A lateral brace bridges the mounting plate and the opposite end and is secured therebetween. The exhaust pipe, mounting plate and lateral brace complete the integral mounting bracket with the exhaust pipe being utilized as a structural member instead of being a nonstructural mass attached to a bracket and supported as a dead weight thereon.
