A video surveillance camera comprising an image sensor, first housing, second housing, electronic circuit, and thermal barrier. The image sensor is located in the first housing, and the electronic circuit is located in the second housing. The thermal barrier has first and second sides with the first side located adjacent to the first housing and the second side located adjacent to the second housing. The image sensor and other electronics, such as the processor board associated with the image sensor or the camera power supply, are located in separate housings or chambers that are separated and insulated from each other by a thermal barrier, thereby minimizing the heat generated by the processor electronics or power supply from being transferred to the area of the image sensor.

Video surveillance camera

A video surveillance camera comprising a lens, lens holder, image sensor, base, and ring. The base has a plurality of slots, and the image sensor is mounted on the base. The lens is positioned in the lens holder, which has a plurality of arms with a pin. Each of the arms is positioned so that its respective pin is located in one of the plurality of slots in the base. The ring has a plurality of grooves for engagement with the pins and is rotatably engaged with the base such that rotation of the ring imparts axial movement to the lens relative to the image sensor.

Disclosed is an orientation device that may be deployed in a mechanical assembly such as a surveillance camera or enclosure to positively determine the physical orientation and/or attitude (tilt), or any change in such physical orientation and/or attitude, of either the camera or the enclosure, and report that information electronically. The invention includes a sensor that is triggered by the movement of a weighted flag along a shaft caused by gravity or gravity in conjunction with the operation of a spring. As the invention is rotated through 360&#xb0;, the force of gravity and force of the spring are exerted on the weighted flag, causing it to move along the shaft as the assembly is rotated. Each movement by the flag is detected by the sensor which sends an electronic signal indicating that a predetermined point has been reached. Multiple assemblies may be used, offset from each other, to provide additional and more precise position information.

Orientation device

A system and method providing dynamic detection and correction of data corrupted by external interference in wireless communications network includes an interference detection unit and correction unit. Detection unit detects impact on video signals based on measuring condition of predetermined portion of video signals. Correction unit corrects the interference by selecting previously stored data to replace corrupted video data.

A video pixel interpolator generates interpolation pixels from incoming picture image pixels for use within a television picture scan line doubler system. The interpolator includes a temporal median filter for generating an interpolation pixel by selection of the median one of a plurality of temporal pixel samples derived from incoming video, an intra-field averager means for generating an intra-field pixel average, and a switch connected to switch an input to a line doubler of the system between outputs of the temporal median filter and the intra-field averager in response to detection of pixel motion within the picture image. Improved motion detection, and multi-channel processing are also included within the present invention.

A motion sequence pattern detector detects a periodic pattern of motion sequences within a succession of video fields, such as film mode or progressive scan mode and comprises a motion detector for detecting the presence of motion from increment to increment within predetermined increments of the succession of video fields and for thereupon putting out a first motion detection signal for each said increment, and logic circuitry responsive to the first motion detection signal for detecting the periodic pattern of motion sequences within the succession of video fields.

A television line doubler having a video pixel interpolator and a multi-component motion detector including at least one frame-recursive component for detecting a motion value in the area of the pixel to be interpolated. A second switch switches its output to an interpolated pixel time compression circuit in accordance with the detected motion value. The second switch and the motion detector provide a proportional switch with an onset at approximately 2 to 5 IRE units of motion value and operating in accordance with the absolute amplitude of the motion value. Full switchover to the intra-field interpolator means occurring at approximately 5 to 15 IRE units of motion value amplitude. The motion detector stretches the detected motion to a predetermined number of adjacent pixel location in the line domain and a recirculation loop enables a component of motion to be recirculated.

A method and apparatus for synchronizing unrelated video type signals from two different sources without employing feedback loops between the two sources. Incoming video signals are converted from analog to digital form and are clocked into a shift register unit by input clock signals phase and frequency locked to the instantaneous horizontal frequency and the color burst frequency portions of the incoming signal. The digitized video signals progressing along the shift register are stored at the input clock signal rate in a random access (RAM) having a sufficient capacity to provide continuous output video signals during each field. The signals are clocked out from the RAM by output clock signals derived from the sync and color burst portions of a local signal comprising either composite video or composite color burst, which are synchronized with the local sync generator. The video signals fetched from the RAM are converted from digital to analog form by the output clock signals, are processed to include standard sync, blanking and color burst signals, and are coupled to follow-on equipment. The sync burst portions of the incoming non-synchronized video signals are deleted during storage in the shift register so that a smaller shift register can store an entire video field. The shift register has a plurality of output taps providing different coarse delay periods only one of which is enabled by a vertical sync pulse in the output clock train prior to transfer of a given field into the RAM.
