A respirator fixing module applied to a breathing tube includes a cap, a nasal mask structure, a first strap, a second strap, and a third strap. The cap has a first joint; the nasal mask structure has a nasal mask, two first assembling members and a second assembling member extending from the left, the right, and the top sides of the nasal mask respectively, and a communicating pipe and a breathing tube connected to each other; the first strap is installed between the two first assembling members and encircled into a headband; the second strap is connected to the cap, and the second strap has an end surrounding the breathing tube and a second joint adjustably combined with the first joint; and the third strap has an end fixed to the second assembling member and the other end having a third joint adjustably combined with the first joint.

Nasal mask

A stoma pad configured to cooperate with a fluid handing tube comprises a flexible, resilient, soft annular pad having a generally flat bottom surface and a convex annular wall extending upwardly from the bottom surface, and a circular hole extending through the center of the annular wall and the bottom surface. A stoma pad assembly comprises the stoma pad and a retention, support or holding device for securing the stoma pad on a patient.

A tracheostomy tube assembly comprising a tracheostomy tube and an elongated neck plate secured to said tube having an upper edge, a lower edge and holes at opposite ends thereof, is characterized by a soft, flexible gel-like polymer pad having a center port surrounding the tracheostomy tube and releasably secured on the patient side of the neck plate and extending to or beyond the upper and lower neck plate edges and inside the holes. The pad has a smooth, substantially flat, planar first surface for resting against the patient side of the neck plate and a smooth, soft, transversely concave second surface for resting against a patient's neck, whereby the pad has a thicker cross-section at its opposite side edges and ends, and a thinner cross-section along a center portion extending between the upper and lower pad edges and ends.

An adjustable volume control manual resuscitation bag assembly includes a resuscitation bag, a volume control knob, a traction assembly operating in response to adjustment of the control knob, and a follower assembly including a bag compression limiting member and a follower which are moved in response to operation of the traction assembly to adjust and limit the volume of gas delivered by compression of the bag.

An apparatus configured to provide positive airway pressure in a respiratory circuit comprises a container configured to be filled to a preselected level with liquids; a drop tube assembly comprising a hollow gas tube rotatably mounted in said container having an upper end extending a static distance outwardly of the container and connected to a respiratory circuit downstream of a user, and a hollow drop tube reciprocally movable upwardly and downwardly in the liquid in response to rotational movement of the gas tube. The container is provided with a gas vent and a liquid fill port.

Positive airway pressure apparatus

A nebulizer includes a receptacle for containing a liquid, a liquid-drawing tube, and a hollow cover including a partition plate dividing an interior of the cover into first and second chambers, first and second conduits each having an inlet end adapted to be connected to a compressed gas supply tube, and an outlet end communicated with the first chamber, and a mist output tube communicating fluidly with the second chamber. A nebulizing unit is connected to the outlet end of the first conduit and the liquid-drawing tube for directing a first compressed gas from the first conduit to the liquid exiting from the tube to convert the liquid into a mist. The second conduit introduces into the first chamber a second compressed gas which entrains the mist when flowing to the second chamber and exiting through the mist output tube.

A valved aerosol Tee adapter assembly comprises a housing member having an upper section with a first interior passageway, a spring chamber between the first passageway and the inner wall of said upper section and a valve seat formed along the upper edge of said upper section, and a lower section having a second passageway contiguous with the first passageway, a compressible spring positioned in the chamber; and a valve reciprocally movable in the housing comprising a valve actuator slidably received in the second passageway having an upper surface for engaging the compressible spring, and a valve member secured to the valve actuator.

A patient adapter for being connected to gas tubing in a ventilator circuit comprises of an inspiratory and an expiratory pipe, the latter having an internal diameter at least about 20% greater than the diameter of the inspiratory pipe. The invention also includes a respirator circuit in which an expiratory limb has an internal diameter at least about 20% greater than the diameter than the inspiratory tubing limb.

A suction control valve comprising a valve housing defining a cavity and including an inlet port for being connected to a suction tube, an outlet port for being connected to a suction source, and a suction control port for creating a suction across the cavity from the inlet port to the outlet port when the suction control port is closed. The valve preferably includes a bacteria filter secured in the cavity for preventing exposure of the suction control port to bacteria entering the inlet port. A splash guard extends along the cavity for preventing liquid from contacting the bacteria filter or from reaching the suction control port. A suction control port guard is selectively movable to prevent accidental closure of the suction control port.

An improved system for delivering oxygen on demand to a user comprises a pressure transducer for sensing pressures during the breathing cycle of a user and for creating an electrical signal proportional to said sensed pressures, an electronic amplifier for amplifying the signal to at least 10,000 times the original signal strength, electronic filters for regulating the amplitude of the signal and for correcting the point of the signal where expiration stops and inspiration begins to correspond to zero respiratory pressure, an on/off switching circuit and cooperating valve drive circuit for switching to an on condition in response to a preselected first pressure and to an off condition in response to a preselected second pressure, and a valve driven by the valve drive circuit means for directing oxygen from an oxygen source to a user.

An isolation valve for use in administering mouth-to-mouth emergency artificial respiration includes a housing having a fixed inlet pipe and a rotatable outlet pipe, a bacteria filter permanently secured in the housing member around the periphery of the filter whereby all of the gas passing through the device must pass through the filter, and a one-way valve seated in the housing and cooperating with valve seats for opening and closing exhaust ports.
