An effortless and automated reordering system includes a dedicated electronic device with a simple button interface that, upon depression of the button, initiates a process of ordering (or reordering) a product associated with the device and a button on that device. The electronic device may store in memory a device identifier and button identifiers for each button as the basis for order request information. The stored data may be communicated to a fulfillment service (e.g., an online merchant, fulfillment center, etc.) for order identification processing. In some cases, an application provided by the fulfillment service may be executed on a secondary management device to allow a user to configure the electronic device to map the buttons to different products, and even different vendors, to facilitate reconfigurable order management.

Effortless and automated reordering

A wireless communications system mitigates the threat of a man-in-the-middle attack when sharing network credentials with a new device. A new wireless device signals that it needs credentials if no other devices are signaling that they need credentials. The new device provides a visible or audible indicator when requested to do so by a device with credentials. Either in response to approval by a user or automatically in response to the indicator, the device with credentials shares credentials with the new device, which can then establish a connection to the network.

Secure wireless network credential sharing

In some examples, a content item may be modified in accordance with user preferences and provided to a user device for display. The user preferences may identify types of content that should be modified. Segments of the content item may be identified in accordance with the user settings. The identified segments may be modified and provided to the user device.

Management of content versions

In some cases, a handheld electronic device may operate in a voice input mode or a scanner input mode. When operating in the voice input mode, the handheld electronic device may record and store audio data in memory. In some cases, the stored audio data may be communicated from the handheld electronic device (e.g., via a Wi-Fi connection) to one or more remote computing devices (e.g., for speech processing). When operating in the scanner input mode, the handheld electronic device may record and store item identifier information (e.g., as barcode data) in the memory. In some cases, the stored item identifier data may be communicated to the one or more remote computing devices (e.g., for item identification processing).

Device for delivery service

In some examples, a display includes a plurality of pixels and a plurality of light sensors. As one example, a respective light sensor may be associated with each pixel. The light sensor output can provide an accurate indication of a current optical state of each of the plurality of pixels. For instance, output from a light sensor proximate to a particular pixel may be used when determining a pixel control signal to be applied for updating the particular pixel to a next optical state. The light sensors may be located below, above, laterally adjacent to, or within one or more pixel elements of each pixel. Additionally, in some examples, one or more light sources may be provided to normalize the output from the light sensors to compensate for variations in ambient lighting and the like.

Display with light sensor feedback

Described are methods and systems of providing an augmented experience on a user device to facilitate user interaction with one or more virtual items. An augmented image comprising an actual object and a virtual item is generated and presented in a user interface. The user interface allows the user to lock a relative position of the virtual item as presented, such that the user may appear to 'move' the virtual item. The user interface may also provide sizing information of the virtual item relative item to the actual object.

Augmented reality presentation

An audio video system is described that includes an AV receiver with a wireless audio module (WAM) host and without audio amplifier functionality. The system further includes a plurality of wireless speakers each having a WAM device to enable unidirectional or bidirectional communications with the WAM host. Each wireless speaker includes an amplifier that may be matched to a driver of the speaker to optimize the frequency response of the driver.

A method for optimizing wireless communications in a mesh network is described. The method includes transmitting a data stream from a wireless module (WM) host to a plurality of WM devices in the mesh network. The method further includes sending status messages from the WM devices to the WM host and the other WM devices. The WM devices are configured to transmit help requests and respond to help requests based on at least one WM device needing help receiving the data stream. The method further includes generating a WM host link quality map at the WM host with the WM host link quality map being dynamically updated upon receiving status messages from the WM devices.

Mesh networking for wireless communications

An optical communications adapter module is provided which includes a casing of a XENPAK-sized module and an optical communications board assembly positioned within the casing. The module also includes a first optical connector coupled to a second optical connector by fiber optics capable of communicating data between the first optical connector and the second optical connector where the first optical connector is coupled to a data transmission connector of the optical communications board assembly and the second optical connector is positioned at a face plate of the casing. The module also includes a third optical connector coupled to a fourth optical connector through fiber optics capable of transmitting data where the third optical connector is coupled to a data reception connector of the optical communications board assembly and the fourth optical connector is positioned at the face plate of the casing.

Optical communications adapter module configured for use inside a XENPAK-sized module

A package to encapsulate an optical component includes a RF interface to receive high frequency signals from an external source. The RF interface pins that can be configured as one or more single-ended transmission lines or as one or more differential transmission lines. For example, the RF interface includes four pins that can be coupled in one of two configurations to provide a single-ended transmission line and in a third configuration to provide a differential transmission line. In one embodiment, the first, second, and fourth pins are coupled to ground while the second pin is coupled to receive a RF signal. Alternatively, the first, second and fourth pins are coupled to ground and the third pin is coupled to receive a RF signal. For a differential transmission line, the first and fourth pins are coupled to ground while the second and third pins are coupled to receive a differential RF signal.

Single-ended/differential wired radio frequency interface

An optical communications adapter module is provided which includes a XENPAK-sized casing and an optical communications board assembly positioned in the casing where the optical communications board assembly has an optical transmission connector and an optical reception connector. The optical transmission connector and the optical reception connector are positioned in connector openings at a first end of the XENPAK-sized casing. The module further includes a board extender coupled to the optical communications board assembly where the board extender is capable of communicating data between the optical communications board assembly and a client computing device.

Optical communications adapter, system and method

An optical communications adapter module is provided which includes a XENPAK-sized casing and an XFP board assembly having an optical transmission connector and an optical reception connector where the XFP board assembly is positioned within the casing so the optical transmission connector and the optical reception connector are positioned in connector openings at a first end of the casing. The module further includes a conversion board that is coupled to the XFP board where the conversion board is capable of communicating data between the XFP board assembly and a client computing device.

Communications adapter module

There is provided a coil and a method for fabricating the same. One embodiment of the coil includes a plurality of traces in one area of a substrate. Each trace has a first end located at a first side of the area, and a second end located at a second side of the area opposite the first side. A plurality of wires couples the plurality of traces to form a coil. Each wire couples the first end of one trace to the second end of another trace located adjacent to the one trace.

Accordingly, a coil is described. The coil includes a plurality of traces in one area of a substrate. Each trace has a first end located at a first side of the area, and a second end located at a second side of the area opposite the first side. A plurality of wires couples the plurality of traces to form a coil. Each wire couples the first end of one trace to the second end of another trace located adjacent to the one trace.
