The current invention provides compositions, methods, and kits for detecting the exposure to and infection by certain viruses. Specifically, the current invention allows for the rapid differential serological detection of exposure to, and infection by viruses. In particular, the current invention allows for the rapid serological detection of exposure to, and infection by Zika virus (ZIKV).

Serological assay for the detection of zika virus-specific antibodies utilizing overlapping peptides comprising an NS2B epitope

The invention is directed to isolated Tilapia Lake Virus or TiLV, and isolated nucleic acids sequences and polypeptides thereof. The invention also relates to probes and primers, and to antibodies against antigens from TiLV, and use of these reagents for detecting the presence or absence of TiLV in an animal. The invention also relates to iRNAs which target nucleic acid sequences of TiLV. The invention is also related to immunogenic compositions, including antibodies and vaccines, for inducing an immune response against TiLV in an animal. The invention is also related to gene constructs and cells comprising TiLV and isolated nucleic acids sequences and polypeptides thereof for use in developing prophylactic and therapeutic agents.

This invention relates to compositions and methods for the differential detection of multiple viruses using a one-step assay. The viruses to be detected include Zika, West Nile, dengue (genotype 1-4) and chikungunya viruses. In particular, the invention relates to a method of and assay for differential detection of the viruses using specific primers and probes designed to detect and differentiate between the viruses.

The present invention provides novel methods, systems, tools, and kits for the simultaneous detection, identification and/or characterization of all viruses known or suspected to infect vertebrates. Multiplex systems, methods, and kits for detecting and identifying nucleic acids

The present invention provides a synthetic nucleic acid sequence comprising 10-30 nucleotides of the N gene region and/or the 3' non-coding region of the SARS-associated coronavirus genome, and a synthetic nucleic acid sequence comprising 10-30 nucleotides of a nucleic acid sequence that is complementary to at least one of those regions. Also provided are compositions comprising the sequences, and uses of the sequences in diagnostic kits. The present invention further provides a primer set for determining the presence or absence of SARS-associated coronavirus in a biological sample, wherein the primer set comprises at least one of the synthetic nucleic acid sequences. Also provided are a composition comprising the primer set, and use of the primer set in a diagnostic kit.
