During the rolling of a metallic flat rolling stock () in a roll stand (), lubricating oil () is sprayed onto the rolling stock () and/or at least one roll () of the roll stand () by multiple spray nozzles () arranged beside one another. In each case, a mixing chamber () of a spray nozzle () is fed with a respective quantity of lubricating oil () via respective multiple oil inlet openings (). The respective mixing chamber () is fed with compressed air () via respectively one air inlet opening (). Compressed air () atomizes the lubricating oil () in the respective mixing chamber () to form an aerosol and, via respectively at least one nozzle outlet (), is sprayed onto the rolling stock () and/or the at least one roll () of the roll stand ().

Lubrication using spray nozzles having multiple oil inlet openings

A device for lubricating the cylinders of a roll stand, in particular for roll nip lubrication in a roll stand for strip-shaped rolling stock. A mixture of water and oil is produced by a mixing and spraying device (). The mixture is sprayed onto at least one of the cylinders () of the roll stand and/or to the surface of the rolling stock (). The mixing and spraying device () include an arrangement of several nozzle mixer units (). Water is guided thereto by a first supply line () and oil is guided thereto by a second supply line ().

Low maintenance nozzle mixer unit for roll nip lubrication

A method for lubricating the cylinders of a roll stand, for roll nip lubrication in a roll stand for a roll band. A mixture of water and oil is produced by a mixing and spraying device, which is supplied with water by a first supply line () and is supplied with oil by a second supply line (). The mixture is sprayed to the strip and/or into the roll nip and/or to at least one of the cylinders of the roll stand. The water flowing to the mixing and spraying device () is heated by a heating device () provided in the first supply line () for a predetermined period of time set by controlling a control unit ().
