A method includes receiving () a plurality of reference signals (-) at an antenna port of a communication device (). Each reference signal (-) is sent using a corresponding precoder. The precoder is selected from a first set of precoders. The method further includes determining () a channel estimate based on the received plurality of reference signals (-), and selecting () a precoder from a second set of precoders based on the determined channel estimate. The second set of precoders comprises at least one precoder in addition to the precoders of the first set of precoders. The method includes sending () an indication () relating to the selected precoder.

IMU-assisted polarization division multiplexed MIMO wireless communication

A method for antenna selection, performed by a user equipment, UE, in a wireless communication system includes determining signal performance of a signal received by the UE. The signal is received by an array antenna of the UE for communication with a network node of the wireless communication system. The method includes determining a signal decay rate associated with the signal performance of the signal, and replacing the array antenna with an omni-directional antenna of the UE for communication with the network node, based on the signal decay rate. Methods, devices and computer program products for antenna selection in a communication system

A wireless communication device includes a wireless interface for conducting wireless communications with a network access node of a wireless network, the wireless interface having uplink and downlink beam forming capabilities. The wireless communication device further includes a control circuit configured to detect a predetermined condition and, in response to the detection, temporarily operate the wireless interface without beam correspondence between uplink and downlink operations; and transmit a message to the network access node that beam correspondence is not used by the wireless communication device.

Dynamic control of beam correspondence

Adaptive selection of antenna configurations by wireless nodes that comprise a plurality of antenna elements adapted for a plurality of different antenna configurations. The selection of the antenna configuration is made based on the quality of signal(s) received by the wireless node. The wireless nodes are operable for communication in the mm-wave frequency band and, in specific embodiments, the different antenna configurations include two or more of a wide-coverage area antenna configuration, a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) configuration and a Beamforming (BF) configuration.
