A storage compartment configuration and an aircraft having a storage compartment configuration according to the invention are proposed. The storage compartment configuration has a storage compartment having a storage space and a suspension. The storage space is designed to receive pieces of luggage. The suspension is used for the attaching the storage compartment to a load-bearing structure of the aircraft. The suspension is designed in such a manner that the storage compartment can be pivoted essentially around a geometrical center point of the storage space.

A gap covering device for covering a gap between two mutually adjacent first aircraft interior panels includes a visible portion as well as a retaining portion connected to the visible portion and extending opposite the visible portion. A receiving structure is fastened to an inner surface of the visible portion and/or of the retaining portion and has a receiving contour adapted to an edge contour of the first aircraft interior panels.

A luggage compartment for aircraft comprises a tilting floor, a flap and a suspension device. The tilting floor is designed for holding carry-on baggage and the like, and may be locked in an initial position and may be tilted to another position for easier loading or unloading. The loading edge height may be substantially lower than the initial height of the closed luggage compartment. For example, an interlocking mechanism may couple the opening and closing of a flap and the tilting of the floor from an initial position to the tilted position, such as a three-position handle that prevents release of the tilting floor until the flap is unlatched.

Aircraft luggage compartment

A comfort and illumination unit especially for a passenger space in an aircraft is constructed for cooperation with a straight wall panel that can be integrated in or secured to a vertical straight wall and/or a horizontal straight ceiling wall. The unit has a mounting base and a cover with passenger convenience elements mounted to the base under the cover which is provided with cut-outs for access to the convenience elements. Fluorescent bulbs form a frame around the convenience elements.
