The present invention relates to a movement sensor that comprises a plurality of plate-type layers on which individual sensors are arranged. The layers are configured in the way set forth in the claims.

Movement and position identification sensor

A ball switch for a multi ball-switch arrangement includes a base plate and a metallic circular disk centrally disposed on the base plate. A first electrically-conductive contact track, which is co-planar with the circular disk, extends from the circular disk to a first edge of the base plate. A chamber plate having a through-bore is disposed opposite the base plate so as to form a chamber which concentrically circumscribes the circular disk. The chamber has a metallic inner wall with a circumferential first metallic annular strip disposed at a first end thereof at a first side of the chamber plate. A dielectric sealing ring which concentrically surrounds the circular disk is disposed between the first metallic annular strip and the base plate so as to seal the chamber. An electrically conductive ball is disposed in the chamber and has a diameter which prevents a further similar conductive ball from fitting into the chamber.

The crash detection system employs a plurality of electronic acceleration sensors distributed at different locations of a vehicle body. The plurality of electronic acceleration sensors measures changes in acceleration of the vehicle body at different locations and therefore the rate of deformation of the vehicle body. The signals from the plurality of electronic acceleration sensors are filtered, amplified, and passed to an evaluation unit, which reads and compares the signals. Based on the rate of deformation of the vehicle body, the evaluation unit then makes a determination of the severity of the vehicle crash and communicates this information to a passenger safety system.

A device for protecting vehicle occupants in a motor vehicle has an impact sensor unit which is provided in a front region of the motor vehicle. The computing unit generates an output signal for controlling a function of the motor vehicle. The processing specification that is stored in a ROM of the computing unit, and with which, in particular, a logic function is described, can be changed even after the ROM mask has been created. Instead of the logic function, a truth table which represents the logic function is stored in an EPROM of the computing unit. A processing specification is stored in the ROM with which calculated variables are compared with the truth table.
