The invention relates to a method, wherein an electrically operated actuator of a vehicle brake system is controlled in accordance with a braking demand of a vehicle control system, such as occurs in electronic stability control. According to the invention, a supply voltage of the vehicle electrical system applied to the electrically operated actuator is increased if at least one specified condition is met. Thus, the pressure build-up by a hydraulic pump can e.g. be accelerated during emergency braking.

An electromechanically actuable parking brake for motor vehicles is disclosed. The brake includes at least one electromechanical actuator whose rotational movement is converted into a translational movement by an actuating unit, and which moves at least one brake element in such a way that at least one brake lining which is connected to the brake element is pressed with a locking force against a rotor which is connected to a motor vehicle wheel, wherein the current consumption of electromechanical actuator when the parking brake is engaged and/or released can be acquired. Furthermore, a method for operating the electromechanically actuable parking brake is also disclosed.

Method for the operation of an electromechanically operable parking brake

A hydraulic vehicle brake equipped with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles, including a brake housing in which a hydraulic service pressure chamber is delimited by a brake piston, wherein the parking brake device acts on the brake piston and, in the applied condition, can be locked by a locking device, and an energy accumulator cooperating with the brake piston is equipped with at least one integrated spring element. In order to realize a simple and low-cost parking brake function that complies with legal requirements, according to the invention, the parking brake device is operable by a pressure that is introduced into the service pressure chamber and enables charging the energy accumulator.

In a method of controlling the braking pressure variation during EBD control, during a braking operation, the vehicle deceleration is sensed and evaluated as a control criterion, and an increase in the braking pressure in the rear-wheel brakes is only permitted if the vehicle deceleration after commencement has risen above a predetermined minimum value, or if there are criteria which indicate brake fading or a brake malfunction, or if the vehicle deceleration exceeds a defined limit value.

Method for controlling brake-pressure characteristics in the rear wheel brakes of a motor vehicle brake system with electronic regulation of brake power distribution

The speed variation of the driven wheels is analyzed in a method of recognizing critical drive train oscillations which require countermeasures during an (ABS) controlled brake maneuver. The occurrence of oscillations having a frequency typical of drive train oscillations is established. When oscillations with this frequency occur, the duration of the oscillating process is established on each individual wheel, or the number of the successive oscillations or semi-wave oscillations is counted. When a predetermined counter reading is reached, an oscillation recognition is indicated if, at that time, the vehicle acceleration is above a predetermined limit value and if oscillation recognition has not yet been triggered on the other driven wheel. To dampen the oscillations, switch-over to a special control is effected for a defined interval. The commencement of the special control prevents braking pressure reduction, the pressure is maintained constant, or at most a delayed pressure increase is allowed.
