A hydraulic pressure sensor for a vehicle comprises a sensor housing which comprises a fluid chamber, a sensor element for detecting the pressure of a fluid in the fluid chamber, and an electronic signal processing component which is electrically connected to the sensor element, for processing an electric signal characterizing the fluid pressure. Electrically conductive contacts for forwarding the electric signals processed by the electronic signal processing components are formed on an external main surface of the sensor housing.

Hydraulic pressure sensor for a vehicle

A sensor assembly for use with a master cylinder is described. The master cylinder comprises an input-side activation element to which a signal transmitter element is coupled. The sensor module comprises a travel sensor for sensing travel carried out by the activation element, and a position sensor for sensing when a predefined position of the activation element is reached.

Sensor module for a master cylinder

A sensor module for use with a master cylinder of a brake system is described, wherein the master cylinder has an input-side activation element and an underpressure region for communicating with an underpressure brake booster. The sensor module comprises an underpressure sensor for detecting an underpressure in the underpressure region of the master cylinder as well as at least one further sensor for detecting a signal transmitter which is rigidly coupled to the activation element. The underpressure sensor and the at least one further sensor are accommodated in a housing of the sensor module. An opening in the housing permits communication between the underpressure sensor and the underpressure region of the master cylinder.

The reliability of a pressure sensor is improved either by utilization of redundant components. A pair of pressure sensors are mounted upon a single pressure sensor diaphragm. Each of the pressure sensors is connected to one of a pair of signal conditioning circuits. The gain of one of the signal conditioning circuits is a fraction of the gain of the other signal conditioning circuit. The outputs of each of the signal conditioning circuits are compared to a corresponding threshold. If both of the output signals exceed the corresponding threshold, it is determined that a malfunction of the pressure sensor has occured.

High reliability pressure sensor

A pressure sensor is mounted integrally in a hydraulic valve body. The sensor has a base which extends into a bore formed in the valve body. The valve body bore is in communication with a pressurized hydraulic fluid. A first circumferential groove formed in the sensor base carries an O-ring which forms a seal between the sensor and the wall of the valve body bore. A second circumferential groove formed in the sensor base carries a spring ring which extends into a corresponding groove formed in the wall of the valve body groove. The spring ring cooperates with the sensor base and valve body bore grooves to retain the sensor in the valve body bore.

Pressure sensor integrated into an electro-hydraulic control unit

A pressure sensor is mounted upon a hydraulic valve body. The sensor has a base which extends into a bore formed in the valve body. The valve body bore is in communication with a pressurized hydraulic fluid. A cover that is removably attached to the valve body encloses the pressure sensor. A circuit substrate is disposed within the cover and electrically connected to the pressure sensor.

Pressure sensor intergrated into an electro-hydraulic control unit

An electrical connector is mounted within an end of a cylindrical pressure sensor housing. The connector has a base that is disc-shaped with a diameter that is less than the diameter of the housing to allow the connector to move within the housing in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the housing. A piece of flex circuit connects conductors carried on the connector base to other electrical components within the pressure sensor while allowing the base to move.

Floating electrical connector for a pressure sensor

The reliability of a pressure sensor is improved either by utilization of redundant components. A pair of pressure sensors are mounted upon a single pressure sensor diaphragm. The pressure signals generated by the pressure sensors are compared and, if the difference between the signals exceeds a predetermined threshold, it is determined that a malfunction of the pressure sensor has occurred. Alternately, additional diagnostic testing may be included to detect a malfunctioning sensor.
