Aerosol-generating article for use with an aerosol-generating device

A smoking article for an aerosol-generating device is provided, including: an aerosol-forming substrate disposed at an extreme upstream end of the article; and a support element disposed immediately downstream of the substrate, the substrate including a gathered crimped sheet of homogenised tobacco material having a plurality of substantially parallel ridges or corrugations extending along or parallel to a longitudinal axis of the article, the tobacco material being penetrable by a heating element of the device having a diameter of between 40 percent and 70 percent of a diameter of the substrate without bending of the article by more than 7 degrees relative to the axis and without tearing or ripping of an outer wrapper of the article, and the support element abuts the substrate and is configured to resist downstream movement of the substrate during insertion of the heating element into the substrate.

Smoking article for use with an internal heating element

There is provided a smoking article that includes a plurality of elements, including a front-plug and an aerosol-forming substrate, assembled in contact with a cigarette paper to form a rod. The front-plug is located upstream from the aerosol-forming substrate. In use, a heating element is inserted into the smoking article and the aerosol-forming substrate is heated to generate an aerosol. When the heating element is subsequently withdrawn from the smoking article, the front-plug acts to retain the aerosol-forming substrate within the rod.

Smoking article with front-plug and method

A smoking article for use in an aerosol-generating device includes an aerosol-forming substrate located at an extreme upstream end of the smoking article; and a support element located immediately downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate. The support element abuts the aerosol-forming substrate and the aerosol-forming substrate is configured to be penetrable by a heating element of an aerosol-generating device having a diameter of between about 40 percent and about 70 percent of the diameter of the aerosol-forming substrate without substantial deformation of the smoking article. The support element is configured to resist downstream movement of the aerosol-forming substrate during insertion of the heating element of the aerosol-generating device into the aerosol-forming substrate.

A smoking article is provided, including a plurality of elements including a front-plug and an aerosol-forming substrate. A hole or slit is defined through the front-plug, through which a heating element may be inserted. In use, a heating element is inserted into the smoking article through the hole or slit and the aerosol-forming substrate is heated to generate an aerosol. When the heating element is subsequently withdrawn from the smoking article, the front-plug acts to retain the aerosol-forming substrate within the smoking article.

Smoking article with front-plug and aerosol-forming substrate and method

A filter cigarette comprising a tobacco rod which is circumscribed by a cigarette paper and a filter, said filter comprising a tobacco-side filter element and a mouth-side filter element, said filter cigarette having a diameter of about 4 mm to about 7 mm, yielding a smoke yield of 1 mg condensate or less and yielding a nicotine yield of 0.2 mg or less. The filter cigarette is characterized in that the overall length of the filter is about 25 mm to about 40 mm, the length of the tobacco-side filter element is about 10 mm to about 25 mm and the tobacco-side filter element comprises a ventilation zone.

The invention relates to a recess filter with a cavity associated with the mouth and provided with a cavity wall, in addition to one or more filter elements associated with the tobacco. The cavity wall surrounds either the cavity or the cavity and, at the most, one part of the filter element(s), whereby ambient air can enter the filter element(s) from the side in order to provide sufficient ventilation. The invention also relates to a stack of several recess filters in addition to a smokeable article, especially a cigarette or cigarillo comprising one such recess filter.
