In a magnetic resonance imaging system having a scanner having a magnetic field system, a radio frequency system and a control device, and a method for operating such a system, the control device generates a control signal sequence on the basis of a control protocol for the purpose of executing a number of scan procedures and a number of adjustments for adjusting the magnetic field system and/or the radio frequency system, at least the scan procedures are predetermined by the control protocol. The control protocol furthermore contains a number of local scan transition indicators assigned to the scan procedures, and on the basis of the scan transition indicators, in each case the control device checks to determine if, directly prior to a scan procedure, an adjustment may be applied. The control signal sequence is then automatically generated by the control device such that, if for a scan procedure the necessary adjustment may not be applied prior to that scan procedure, then the relevant adjustment will be executed in advance and/or adjustment parameter values from previously executed existing adjustments will be used.

Process and control device for operating a magnetic resonance imaging scanner

A local coil facility is disclosed for a magnetic resonance tomography apparatus for examining an examination object. In at least one embodiment, the local coil facility includes at least one electronic processing system, a high frequency antenna, and an antenna housing to cover the high-frequency antenna and the at least one electronic processing system, the antenna housing having at least one wall close to the object and at least one wall away from the object. To reduce or even minimize the attenuation of PET radiation in a combined MR/PET device and thus in particular to ensure a better signal to noise ratio for the PET measurement, it is proposed according to at least one embodiment of the invention that the surfaces of the wall away from the object are essentially tangential to the examination object.

Local coil facility for magnetic resonance tomography apparatus

A magnetic resonance apparatus is operated with continuous movement of an examination subject through a measurement volume of the apparatus. At each successively-occupied position of the examination subject within the measurement volume during the continuous movement, magnetic resonance data are acquired with system parameters, each having system parameter values. Contemporaneously with each data acquisition at each position, the acquired data are evaluated as to the effect produced by the system parameter values employed to acquire the data. The system parameter values are then adapted to cause the effect to correspond to a target value, and the adapted system parameters are then used to acquire data at the next-successive position occupied by the examination subject in the continuous movement.

Magnetic resonance system and method for spatially-dependent adjustment of system parameters

In a method for coil selection of a magnetic resonance apparatus, a determination of coil positions of the multiple coil devices of the magnetic resonance apparatus is made and a determination is also made of a number of coil groups, wherein a coil group is composed of at least one coil device. One or more coil groups is associated with positions of the support device, and the coil group that is associated with a position of the support device includes the coil devices that are suitable for use in that associated position of the support device. A control of one of the multiple coil groups dependent on the position of the support device.

Method for automatic coil selection in a magnetic resonance apparatus

In a method and a corresponding control device for automatic position determination in at least one spatial direction of at least two acquisition devices, wherein more acquisition devices than acquisition channels are present, a position measurement for one of the acquisition devices is implemented with an acquisition channel in a first step and a position measurement for another of the acquisition devices with the same acquisition channel is implemented in a second step. The position of the respective acquisition devices is determined based on these position measurements.

Method and control device for position determination of acquisition devices for a magnetic resonance system

In a method and arrangement for detection of the position of an examination person on a table in a magnetic resonance system, the examination person on the table is moved relative to the magnetic resonance system, RF pulses are radiated while the examination person is moved through the magnetic resonance system, the resulting magnetic resonance signals caused by the RF pulses are detected and the position of the examination person is determined using the acquired magnetic resonance signals.
