The invention relates to a clothing () for a machine to manufacture or refine a fibrous web, in particular a paper, cardboard, or tissue web, comprising a substrate () and a grid structure () applied on the substrate (), on which the fibrous web is transported when the clothing () is used as intended, wherein the grid structure (') comprises a plurality of first elements (′), all of which aligned in a first direction, and a plurality of second elements (′), all of which aligned in a second direction, which is different from the first direction, wherein the first elements (′) penetrate the second elements (′), forming the grid structure (′), such that an underside of the first elements (′) facing the substrate () and an underside of the second elements (′) facing the substrate () are located in a common plane. A process for high pressure embossing a single ply of paper and the paper produced thereby. The embossing process requires two rolls, a pattern roll 30 and an anvil roll 32. The rolls are loaded together at a pressure of at least 1000 psi at the nip. A single ply of paper is embossed in the nip. The embossments of the paper do not extend outwardly beyond the thickness of the paper to have any out-of-plane deformation. The embossments are typically glassined. The resulting paper has an aesthetically pleasing appearance, without undue loss of tensile strength from the embossing process.

A secondary belt for papermaking. The belt has a framework of protuberances arranged in a semicontinuous pattern to provide a semicontinuous pattern of deflection conduits. The semicontinuous pattern is distinguished from the discrete and continuous patterns of the prior art. The protuberances may be generally parallel, or may provide individual cells within the deflection conduits between the protuberances. Also disclosed is the paper made on such a secondary belt.

A two piece garment for collecting bodily discharges is disclosed. The garment has a belt and a disposable assembly which are detachable and reattachable. The belt is intended to be reused, while the disposable assembly is intended to be discarded when soiled. The two components are attached to one another by hook and loop type fastening material, providing for adjustment to fit a wide range of wearer sizes.

The present invention is directed to a single lamina tissue paper having visually discernible, large scale patterns made during the drying step of the papermaking process. Particularly, the tissue is made on a blow through drying belt having a pattern of alternating knuckles and deflection conduits. This pattern produces a like pattern of regions in the paper having alternating values of crepe frequencies, opacities and elevations. The differences in these values produces a visually discernible pattern.

Detachable two piece absorbent garment

High bulk, absorbent paper having a relatively high MD elongation at rupture, and a substantially greater stress/strain modulus in the lowest one-third of its range of MD extensibility--preferably when wet--than equally machine-direction-stretchable, purely dry-foreshortened (e.g., dry-creped) paper having substantially identical MD elongation at rupture. The process includes a differential velocity transfer of a wet-laid embryonic web having relatively low fiber consistency from a carrier to a substantially slower moving, open-mesh transfer fabric having a substantial void volume; and thereafter drying the web while precluding substantial macroscopic rearrangement of the fibers in the plane of the web. The differential velocity transfer is effected without substantial compaction of the web by avoiding substantial mechanical pressing, centrifugal slinging, air blasting, and the like. The MD stress-strain property of the paper when wet is directly related to the magnitude of the differential velocity at transfer; to the magnitude of the wet-strength property of the paper; and to the topography of the transfer fabric.
