A wheel hub drive system includes a drive motor with a drive shaft, an input planetary gear set (PGS), an output PGS and an intermediate PGS. Each PGS includes a sun gear, a planet carrier and planet gears provided upon the planet carrier. The drive shaft is rotationally fixed with the sun gear of the input PGS. The planet carrier of the input PGS is rotationally fixed with the sun gear of the intermediate PGS, and the planet carrier of the intermediate PGS is rotationally fixed with the sun gear of the output PGS. The planet carrier of the output PGS is adapted to be rotationally fixed with a rim of a wheel. The output PGS is provided axially in-between the input PGS and the intermediate PGS.

Wheel hub drive system

A wheel hub arrangement for a driving wheel of a vehicle is provided. The wheel hub arrangement is provided with a planetary gear train including: a centrally arranged sun gear wheel fixed to a drive shaft that extends in an axial direction of the wheel hub arrangement; a set of planet gear wheels distributed circumferentially around and meshing with the sun gear wheel; a ring gear wheel member extending circumferentially around the planet gear wheels and being provided with a ring gear wheel meshing with the planet gear wheels; a stationary planet wheel carrier; an annular rolling-element bearing arranged between the ring gear wheel member and the planet wheel carrier, wherein the ring gear wheel member is configured to be fixed to the driving wheel of the vehicle.

Wheel hub arrangement for a driving wheel of a vehicle

A planet carrier for a planetary gear transmission for driving a wheel includes a housing for accommodating a sun wheel and planet wheels of a planetary gear transmission. The housing has an inner end and an opposite outer end. The inner end of the housing is provided with an inner end wall having an opening for receiving a drive shaft for driving the sun wheel. The outer end of the housing is provided with an outer end wall having through holes for mounting the planet wheels axially into the housing in the direction from the outer end towards the inner end.

Planet carrier and a planetary gear transmission

A wheel hub unit is provided including at least one planetary gear set, including a sun gear, one set of planet gears, a carrier, and a ring gear, wherein each of the planet gears of the set of planet gears is provided with an engagement arrangement adapted for engagement with a corresponding engagement arrangement of the ring gear, wherein the engagement is provided at an engagement area in which the engagement arrangement of the planet gears overlap the engagement arrangement of the ring gear, a bearing, including an inner bearing ring, an outer bearing ring and rolling elements, wherein the inner bearing ring constitutes the ring gear of the planetary gear set, and wherein a center of each of the respective rolling elements is axially displaced in relation to the engagement area. A vehicle including such a wheel hub unit is also provided.

A method for controlling gear shifting of a working machine includes determining a representation of a first total tractive force of the working machine for the entire set of drive units; initiating a procedure for redistributing the tractive force while maintaining the first total tractive force, including decreasing, at least partly towards a level suitable for shifting gear, the torque and tractive force of at least the first drive unit down, and increasing, in a compensational manner, the torque and tractive force of at least one of the other drive units not subject to gear shifting; monitoring, during the redistribution procedure, a representation of a second total tractive force of the working machine for the other drive units not subject to gear shifting, and, provided that the second total tractive force exceeds a threshold limit that forms a function of the first total tractive force: decreasing the torque and tractive force of at least the first drive unit down to the level suitable for shifting gear and performing gear shifting for at least the first drive unit.

Method for controlling gear shifting of a working machine

A clutch arrangement includes a shift piston and a piston housing. The shift piston is arranged to be displaced in an axial direction relative to the piston housing between at least one gear position and a neutral position. The clutch arrangement also includes a spring element for forcing the shift piston towards the neutral position. The clutch arrangement includes a first return piston and a second return piston arranged on opposite sides of the spring element, and the spring element is accommodated within a recess of the shift piston and is pretensioned between the first return piston and the second return piston. In the neutral position the first return piston is forced by the spring element against a first stop element of the shift piston, defining an end position for the first return piston relative to the shift piston, and the second return piston is forced by the spring element against a second stop element of the shift piston, defining an end position for the second return piston relative to the shift piston.

An arrangement for reducing a rotational speed of a rotating member includes a first and second pressure member arranged at a distance from each other and an opposite sides of the rotating member for movement relative to each other between a retracted position and a forward position engaging the rotating member. The arrangement includes an adjustment device including a friction structure forming a friction joint with one of the pressure members for maintaining a position relative to one another provided a maximum friction force is not exceeded. The arrangement further includes a spring acting on the friction structure for separating the pressure members after having been compressed. The spring has a gradually increasing spring force between a non-compressed state and a totally compressed state. An intermediate spring force value of the spring, which corresponds to compression of the spring to an extent less than the totally compressed state, equals a maximum friction force of the friction joint so that the friction structure is forced to move relative to the pressure member, with which it forms the friction joint, when the maximum friction force is exceeded.

The invention relates to a device for driving a wheel of a vehicle. The device includes a hub for carrying the wheel in a rotationally fixed manner, a planetary gear connected between a driving axle and the hub, which planetary gear includes a planet carrier which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the hub, and an arrangement for fixing the hub and the planet carrier in the intended position relative to one another in the axial direction. Both the hub and the planet carrier include a hole which extends in the axial direction. At least one of the holes forms at least a part of a continuous opening through the hub and the planet carrier in the axial direction. The fixing arrangement comprises an elongate element arranged in the continuous opening and an arrangement for fixing the hub and the planet carrier relative to one another in the axial direction via the elongate element.
