Provided is a coextruded multilayer film. The coextruded multilayer film has at least two layers, including a sealant layer and a second layer in contact with the sealant layer. The sealant layer contains (A) a first ethylene-based polymer having a density from 0.865 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc and a melt index from 0.5 g/10 min to 25 g/10 min; (B) an unsaturated primary fatty acid amide having a melting point of 100&#xb0; C. or less; and (C) a diprotic fatty acid having a melting point greater than 100&#xb0; C. and a decomposition temperature greater than 200&#xb0; C. The second layer contains a second ethylene-based polymer. Also provided is a laminate containing said sealant layer.

Multilayer films and laminates containing slip agents

The coextruded multilayer film has at least two layers, including a sealant layer and a second layer in contact with the sealant layer. The sealant layer contains (A) a first ethylene-based polymer having a density from 0.865 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc and a melt index from 0.5 g/10 min to 25 g/10 min; (B) an unsaturated primary fatty acid amide having a melting point of 100&#xb0; C. or less; and (C) a saturated primary fatty acid amide having a melting point greater than 100&#xb0; C. The unsaturated primary fatty acid amide and the saturated primary fatty acid amide have a weight ratio of from 3:1 to 1:6. The second layer contains a second ethylene-based polymer. The present disclosure also provides a laminate containing said sealant layer.

A multilayer film comprising a first layer comprising from greater than 0 to 100 percent by weight of an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer composition (LLDPE), based on the total weight of the film composition; and a second layer comprising at least 5 percent by weight of the second layer, of an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having a density in the range of from 0.855 to 0.900 g/cm; and having a melt index (190&#xb0; C./2.16 kg) of greater than 200 g/10 min; and from 60 to 95 percent, by weight of the second layer, of EVOH is provided.

Multi-layer films and articles made therefrom

The present invention relates to nonwoven webs or fabrics. In particular, the present invention relates to nonwoven webs having superior abrasion resistance and excellent softness characteristics. The nonwoven materials comprise monocomponent fibers having a surface comprising a polyethylene, said nonwoven material having a fuzz/abrasion of less than 0.7 mg/cm. The present invention is also related to fibers having a diameter in a range of from 0.1 to 50 denier, said fibers comprising a polymer blend, wherein the polymer blend comprises: from 40 weight percent to 80 weight percent (by weight of the polymer blend) of a first polymer which is a homogeneous ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer having: a melt index of from about 1 to about 1000 grams/10 minutes, and a density of from 0.870 to 0.950 grams/centimeter, and from 74 to 20 percent by weight of a second polymer which is an ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer having a melt index of from about 1 to about 1000 grams/10 minutes, and preferably a density which is at least 0.01 grams/centimetergreater than the density of the first polymer.

A multi-layered structure comprising an induction activation layer comprising a blend of (a) a first thermoplastic polymer, (b) a plurality of first particles, each said first particle comprising (i) a core comprising one or more magnetic materials and (ii) a shell comprising silicon dioxide; and (c) optionally a plurality of second particles, each said second particle comprising heat conducting particles; and a sealant, wherein the sealant exhibits a melting point equal to or lower than any other layer in the multi-layered structure, wherein the induction activation layer and sealant are in direct or indirect thermal contact is provided.

Multi-layered structure and a method of sealing or shaping using a multi-layered structure

The present invention relates to a method of obtaining value from providing fabrication equipment comprising the following steps. Fabrication equipment is provided to an article producer, which equipment includes an on-line analyzer for detecting the presence of a tracer element. Raw material which contains the proprietary tracer element is then provided to the article producer. The article producer is then allowed to begin to convert the raw material to a finished article using the fabrication equipment. The raw material is analyzed for the presence of the tracer element while the fabrication equipment is operated. Appropriate action, such as charging a royalty or shutting down the fabrication equipment, is then taken in the event the tracer element is not detected.

The instant invention provides a rotomolding composition. The a rotomolding composition comprises at least 95 percent by weight of a thermoplastic polymer; and from 0.1 to 3 percent by weight of metal oxide lamellae; wherein the rotomolding composition is characterized by at least one of the following properties: (a) having a retention at elongation at break of at least 85 percent after 4000 hours of accelerated aging; or (b) having a ductility improvement of at least 50 percent relative to a similar composition free of said metal oxide lamellae.

Crosslinked foams having high filler loadings, which may be formed from A) a polyolefin having a crystallinity of 21 percent or less, an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of less than 15 mole percent, or a combination thereof; B) a polyolefin having a viscosity between 500 and 20,000 cP, as measured using ASTM D1084 (Brookfield Viscosity at 350&#xb0; F.); and C) a filler, wherein the crosslinked foam includes from 10 to 80 parts filler per hundred parts of components A, B, and C, by weight. In other aspects of embodiments disclosed herein, the crosslinked foam may optionally include one or more of: D) at least one polyolefin having a crystallinity of greater than 21 weight percent, an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of 15 mole percent or greater, or a combination thereof; and E) a scorch retarder.

A polymer-coated particulate material having: a particulate substrate; and an applied compound, wherein the applied compound coats at least 50% of the surface of the particulate substrate, and wherein, at the time of application, the applied compound includes a dispersion including: a thermoplastic polymer; and a stabilizing compound. In another aspect, embodiments disclosed herein relate to a method of forming a polymer-coated particulate material, the method including the steps of: incorporating a particulate substrate and a dispersion, the dispersion comprising: a thermoplastic polymer; a stabilizing compound; and a dispersion medium selected from the group consisting of an organic solvent, water, and combinations thereof; removing at least a portion of the dispersion medium.

Polyolefin dispersion technology used for resin coated sand

This invention is a method for fabricating fibers by melt-blowing a melt of a molecularly self-assembling material, the melt being at a temperature of from 130&#xb0; C. to 220&#xb0; C., thereby forming a fiber set having a distribution of fiber diameters wherein at least 95% of the fibers have a diameter of less than about 3 microns. The invention further comprises collecting the fiber set so as to form a fibrous non-woven web.

Process for producing micron and submicron fibers and nonwoven webs by melt blowing

The present invention relates to soft touch fibers and nonwoven fabrics made from such fibers. The fibers comprise an incompatible polymer system which leads to the soft touch quality. The fibers comprise a mixture of at least two thermoplastic polymers each having different viscosities and wherein the mixture has an interfacial tension from about 0.5 to about 20 mN/m, and wherein the mixture comprises a portion of the fiber surface. The fibers may include from 40-98 percent of a polyolefin continuous phase and from 2 to 60 weight percent of an amorphous thermoplast dispersed phase, such as polystyrene or polyamide.
