The present invention relates to an apparatus for the generation, the distribution and/or the usage of electrical energy. The present invention relates to an electrical apparatus having an insulating space which contains a dielectric insulation fluid comprising an organofluorine compound. At least one solid component of the apparatus that is directly exposed to the insulation fluid contains a basic body made of a first material and a protective layer made of a second material different from the first material, the protective layer being directly or indirectly applied on the basic body and having a thickness of at least 50 &#x3bc;m. The organofluorine compound is selected from the group consisting of: fluoroethers, fluoroketones, fluoroolefins, fluoronitriles, and mixtures thereof, and the first material comprises or consists of a material selected from the group consisting of: a polymeric material, a ceramic, a composite material, and mixtures or combinations thereof.

Apparatus for the generation, distribution and/or usage of electrical energy and component for such an apparatus

The application relates to a method for determining a property of a fluid component of a fluid present in a compartment of an electrical apparatus by means of a measurement device arranged outside the compartment and comprising a chamber for receiving a quantity of the fluid from the compartment. Amongst other steps of the method, an optical path in the chamber is illuminated by a light source and a first intensity of light is measured by a light detector. Then fluid is released from the compartment into the chamber and a second intensity (Ix) of light is measured. Based on these measurements the property of the fluid component is determined.

A method and device for estimating a density value &#x3c1;indicative of a true density &#x3c1; or for estimating a viscosity value &#x3b7;indicative of a true viscosity &#x3b7; of a fluid is disclosed. For this, a first resonance frequency fof a first mechanical oscillator in a reference volume and a second resonance frequency fof a second mechanical oscillator in contact with the fluid are measured. During this derivation, at least one fluid-temperature- or fluid-pressure-dependent parameter of the fluid is used. Additionally or alternatively, the first (i.e. reference) mechanical oscillator is arranged in contact with a reference fluid. Thus, fundamental errors in the derivation of the estimated value &#x3c1;or &#x3b7;are reduced and the estimated value becomes more reliable.

A method for deriving at least one operating parameter of a fluid-insulated electrical apparatus, in particular of gas-insulated switchgear. The operating parameter is dependent on a dielectric breakdown strength of an insulation fluid of the electrical apparatus. The insulation fluid includes at least three components that are assigned to at least a first and a second component group such that at least one component group comprises at least two components. The component groups differ in their weighted average values of the molecular masses of the components in the respective component groups. At least one quantity which is indicative of the concentration of the first component group and of the concentration of the second component group is determined from the insulation fluid, e.g. by measuring one or more measurement variables with one or more sensors. The operating parameter is then derived using the at least one quantity.

An apparatus for the generation, the distribution or the usage of electrical energy, the apparatus including a housing enclosing an insulating space and an electrical component arranged in the insulating space. The insulating space contains a dielectric insulation gas including an organofluorine compound A. A method and device for operating a fluid-insulated electrical apparatus. The insulation fluid of the electrical apparatus includes at least two components. The method includes the step of determining a physical state of the insulation fluid by measuring at least three measurement variables with sensors. The method further includes the step of deriving trend variables indicative of changes over time for the measurement variables and/or for characterizing variables. These characterizing variables are derived from the measurement variables by using a relating equation, such as an equation of state, and are also indicative of the physical state of the insulation fluid. By testing for specific patterns of the trend variables, an operating state of the electrical apparatus is determined. The possible operating states correspond to specific and distinguishable non-fault and fault scenarios for the electrical apparatus. Thus, operating states can be distinguished and trouble-shooting in case of a failure is simplified.
