A hydrostatic apparatus is disclosed. The hydrostatic apparatus comprises a pump, an input shaft, a fan and a fan shroud. The pump comprises a housing, an end cap, a first end and a second end. The input shaft extending from the first end and the second end of the pump. The fan is attached to one end of the input shaft. The fan shroud is also attached to the pump.

A variable width distribution apparatus () for distributing asphalt hot-mix, or similar material, across the full width of a surface to be paved comprises at least two auger support members (), each auger support member positioned coaxially with each other and configured to engage with an adjacent auger support member () to form a combined support of variable length; and at least two auger slide sections () comprising an outboard auger slide section (B) coupled to an outboard auger support section at an outboard end via a hanger, each auger slide section positioned coaxially with each other and configured to engage with an adjacent auger slide section to form a combined auger of variable length; such that extension or retraction of the auger support members () along a path of least resistance as the apparatus () moves over a surface to be paved causes a corresponding extension or retraction of the auger slide sections () with respect to an adjacent auger slide section () and such that each auger slide section () is configured to maintain a continuous worm with respect to an adjacent auger slide section () when in an extended position in relation to one another.

Variable width material distribution apparatus

A drive track is for a wheel train for mobilizing a paving vehicle upon a ground surface, the wheel train including a drive wheel and a bogie wheel. The track includes an endless body disposable about the wheel train and having a driven portion engageable by the drive wheel such that the drive wheel circulates the track about the wheel train. A generally annular rail portion is connected with the drive portion and has a continuous inner circumferential surface contactable with the bogie wheel, such that the bogie wheel rolls along the inner surface, and a continuous outer circumferential surface contactable with the ground surface. The rail portion supports the bogie wheel above the ground surface such that when the track circulates about the wheel train, a distance between the bogie wheel axis and the ground surface remains substantially constant as the bogie wheel rolls along the rail inner surface.

Endless track for paving vehicles

A device is provided for discharging two gases from a vehicle to ambient air, one gas having pressure pulsation of a first magnitude. The device includes an elongated body connected with the vehicle and having a first inlet connected with a first gas source, a second inlet connected with a second gas source, an outlet fluidly communicable with ambient air, and an interior mixing chamber, the two inlets being fluidly communicable with the chamber such that the two gases flow into the chamber. The body combines the two gases within the mixing chamber to form a combined gas having pressure pulsation of a lesser, second magnitude and to discharge the combined gas to ambient air. Preferably, the body includes an outer tubular member having the first inlet and the outlet and an inner tubular member disposed within the outer member and including the second inlet and a plurality of ports.

A wheel assembly is for mobilizing a construction vehicle upon a base surface and includes a frame connected with the vehicle and configured to pivot about a first axis. At least one and preferably two axles are connected with the frame and configured to pivot respectively about a second axis and a third axis, the second and third axes each extending generally perpendicularly with respect to the first axis. Each axle has a longitudinal centerline extending generally perpendicularly with respect to the second axis. Two wheels are preferably connected with each axle so as to rotate generally about each axle centerline. When the wheels are disposed generally upon the base surface, the wheels roll with respect to the surface so as to at least partially mobilize the vehicle. Further, angular displacement of the frame and the axle about the second axis move the wheels within two perpendicular vertical planes.

A pneumatic fumes collection system for an auger-type distributing device that spreads hot asphalt behind a mobile paver includes a rotatable auger shaft extending horizontally above a surface being paved and laterally to a longitudinal centerline axis of the paver. The shaft includes a plurality of auger flights spaced therealong, and can be raised and lowered to a plurality of elevations above the surface being paved. A fumes intake inlet is positioned above, and in a fixed spacial relation to, the auger shaft, whereby the fumes inlet raises and lowers simultaneously with the auger shaft, resulting in an a more uniform fumes collection over a plurality of auger flight elevations. A fumes exhaust fan and exhaust stack are positioned on the paver.

A paving machine that is driven by track assemblies utilizing continuous rubber belts uses a motor and planetary gear reduction combination on each drive wheel to drive each belt. Each planetary gear includes a planetary joint connection between a rotating and a non-rotating portion, with an elastomeric seal therein to retain lubricating fluid in the planetary housing. Each drive wheel is formed from a pair of annular ring members rigidly connected together and spaced apart to provide a passage for directing debris falling from a rotating drive wheel away from the planetary joint, to minimize damage to the seal.

A paving machine is driven by track assemblies utilizing continuous rubber belts driven by drive wheels. Each drive wheel is driven by a planetary gear assembly. Each drive wheel is formed from a pair of annular ring members rigidly connected together and spaced apart to provide a passage for directing debris falling from a rotating drive wheel away from the planetary gear, to minimize damage to the planetary gear assembly.
