A vial for a builder's level includes a body with an interior wall and a body cavity containing a bubble. A marker ring is exposed in the cavity. In the improvement, the ring is embedded in the body and the interior wall and the ring have surfaces machined and coextensive with one another. The bubble moves smoothly across the machined wall and ring surfaces. A new method for making a level vial includes providing an intermediate vial product with a body wall having at least one marker ring embedded in it and machining the wall and the ring to form a wall surface free of discontinuities. The intermediate vial product is also disclosed.

Liquid level vial and method for making the vial

A liquid vial assembly comprises a liquid-containing vial having a seamless cylindrical wall and a transparent outer sleeve extending along the wall. The resistance of the vial to breakage is dramatically improved. The sleeve may be made of a resilient material capable of being slightly stretched (PVC tubing, for example) or of a hard material such as polycarbonate or tempered glass. Either material is preferably non-shatterable. A new method for making a liquid vial assembly is also disclosed.

A plunger having a generally converging distal portion, and a rear face on which is provided a coupling structure. The coupling structure is transversely engageable by, and transversely disengageable from, a driving mechanism of a power-driven angiographic syringe, and, one engaged, cannot be disengaged by rotation of the driving mechanism relative to the plunger in the absence of translational movement of the driving mechanism and plunger relative to one another. The coupling structure may include a rearwardly extending wall to which is joined a radially inwardly extending flange. The coupling structure may be generally C-shaped, with a continuously curved portion having an arc length not exceeding about 180.degree., and optionally may have tangentially extending end segments respectively joined to the continuously curved portions. Such plunger has utility in angiographic syringes of a type employed with power injector means which comprises a driving mechanism with a head engageable with the coupling structure of the plunger.

A plunger having a generally converging distal portion, and a proximal face on which is mounted a coupling structure. The coupling structure is transversely engageable by, and transversely disengageable from, a driving mechanism of a power-driven angiographic syringe, and once engaged, cannot be disengaged by rotation of the driving mechanism relative to the plunger in the absence of transverse translational movement of the driving mechanism and plunger relative to one another. The coupling structure may include a pair of laterally spaced-apart retention members, each comprising a leg rearwardly extending from the proximal face of the plunger and joined at a rearward part thereof to a laterally extending bridge segment, to the inner extremity of which is joined a pair of oppositely transversely extending flexible, resilient flange elements. The flange elements of the respective retention members thus define a transverse channel therebetween, with marginal portions thereof having reduced width dimensions relative to a medial portion thereof. Such plunger has utility in angiographic syringes of a type employed with power injector means which comprise a driving mechanism with a head engageable with the coupling structure of the plunger.
