Apparatus for supporting acoustic equipment

An apparatus includes acoustic equipment and an enclosure to support the acoustic equipment. The enclosure includes a front cover member, a middle cover member, a back cover member, and a hinge to connect the front cover member to the back cover member. The hinge enables the movement of the front cover member and the back cover member between an open position and a closed position. The middle cover member is disposed between the front cover member and the back cover member, with the middle cover member being connected to the hinge to enable movement of the middle cover member and the back cover member between an open position and a closed position. The enclosure further includes a first latch configured to releasably secure the middle cover member to the back cover member, and a second latch configured to releasably secure the front cover member to the back cover member.

A desk chair includes a seat with a back rest and a rigid frame joining the seat and backrest, and a pedestal base preferably with tilt and rotational capabilities. The chair is securely coupled to the base in the desk chair configuration but may be decoupled from the base and placed on the floor beside the base. To accomplish this arrangement, the chair is equipped with a set of four-and-aft extending rails that are integral with the frame which is attached to the seat. These rails rest on the floor only when the chair portion is decoupled from the pedestal base.

A chair with a coupling companion stool base includes a frame that has: a claw extending downward from a second portion of a lower portion of the frame; a latch extending downward from and movably connected with a first portion of the lower portion; two legs adapted to support the frame upon a supporting surface extending downward from the lower portion; and a receptacle defined between the claw and the latch. The base supports the frame above a supporting surface and has a saddle with opposite back and front edges and a top surface that faces away from the supporting surface. The top surface may also define at least one of a work surface, a writing surface, and a sitting surface. The base releasably couples with the frame, having the saddle seated in the receptacle, the front edge seated in the claw, and the back edge captured by the latch. When decoupled, the chair portion may be used as casual floor rocker seating.

A breast pump provides multiple orientations of the pumping lever with respect to the breast shield. A breast pump includes a liner extending from the breast shield, through the suction chamber, and out of the suction chamber, which liner shields other components of the pump from contamination by the flow of milk through the pump during pumping operation. A breast pumping device includes a pumping lever for manually providing a cyclical vacuum within the suction chamber and an external pumping source, connected to the suction bell, that the user can activate to provide a cyclical vacuum within the suction chamber. A breast pump provides a smaller change in the grip width from when the lever is fully-extended to when the lever is fully-retracted, allowing more comfortable manual pumping.

A child safety gate includes a flexible barrier that is retractable into a housing and extendable across a passageway to inhibit passage by a child. An electrically operable extension lock solenoid inhibits barrier extension until activated by a parent. The gate includes a motion sensor, a night light, a child monitor and an interactive audio-visual display.

Child safety barriers

A heat transfer cap assembly for use with a dispensing canister containing a pressurized product, such as shaving gel. The cap assembly defines a volume for retaining hot tap water to heat gel in a thermal conductor forming a conduit between a nozzle adaptor and an outlet in the side of the cap assembly. When the nozzle is released, the conduit moves out of alignment with the outlet so as to block any 'drool' of the gel remaining in the conduit during later expansion. The outer cap is rotatable to a lock position to disallow activation of the nozzle and to further block the outlet.

Heating and dispensing fluids

A method is disclosed of installing a barrier device at a passageway. The method includes attaching a barrier housing containing a retractable barrier to a structural element on one side of the passageway, extending the barrier a desired distance from the barrier housing, with the barrier so extended, setting an extension limit of the barrier to prevent subsequent extension of the barrier beyond the desired distance from the barrier housing and, with the extension limit set, retracting the barrier into the housing. The set extension limit can permit subsequent retraction and re-extension of the barrier up to the set extension limit.

Adjustable width child safety barrier

A child safety barrier is disclosed, including a receptacle assembly rigidly mountable to a structural element on one side of a passageway, a gate comprising a latch housing, the gate being mountable to a structural element on an opposite side of the passageway and positionable to span across the passageway, a retractable plunger assembly disposed at least partially within the latch housing and extendable from the latch housing to engage the receptacle assembly and retain the gate in a closed position, and a knob exposed at a surface of the latch housing for manipulation by an operator, the knob being movable in a first sense to a first position and movable from the first position in a second sense to cause the plunger assembly to retract from the receptacle assembly to release the gate for opening.
