A vibration damper for a motor vehicle includes an outer tube and an inner tube arranged coaxially within the outer tube. A guide unit closes the outer tube and the inner tube in each case at a first end. A bottom unit has a bottom valve. The bottom unit is arranged at a second end of the inner tube. The outer tube and the inner tube are deformed plastically, such that the guide unit is connected in a positively locking manner to the outer tube and the inner tube, and the inner tube being deformed plastically, such that the bottom unit is connected in a positively locking manner to the inner tube, and/or the outer tube and the inner tube is connected in an integrally joined manner to the guide unit, and the inner tube being connected in an integrally joined manner to the bottom unit.

A device for damping vibrations may comprise a hollow damper tube, a piston rod with a piston fastened thereto, at least one spring plate, and at least one securing element. The piston may be disposed within the damper tube, and the spring plate may be disposed outside the damper tube. To achieve a reliable connection between the spring plate and the damper tube in a cost-effective manner, the spring plate may be connected to the damper tube in both a force-fitting manner and a form-fitting manner. The present disclosure further concerns motor vehicles that employ such devices, as well as methods for fastening spring plates to damper tubes.

A vibration damper, which can be utilized in a chassis of a vehicle, may comprise a damper tube and a working piston that is guided in a longitudinal axis over an inner side of the damper tube. The vibration damper may also include a reinforcing sleeve that is positioned on an outer side of the damper tube. A receptive fork for attachment to the chassis can be arranged on the reinforcing sleeve. The reinforcing sleeve may be delimited in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a peripheral edge. In a region of the peripheral edge, a sealing element enclosing the outer side of the damper tube may be accommodated in the reinforcing sleeve. The peripheral edge may have a plastically deformed reshaping section that engages around the sealing element.
