The present invention relates to an OBP measuring and monitoring device comprising a contact lens presenting an inner surface and an outer surface and a sensing unit, said sensing unit being united with said contact lens such that it is applied against an eye of a user for sensing at least a first OBP and a second OBP of said eye when said contact lens is worn by said user, said sensing unit being adapted to measure simultaneously or consecutively the first and second OBPs and transmit these OBPs to a CPU such that said CPU receiving said measurement is able to determine at least one new biomarker based on a combination between at least these two OBPs.

Ocular biomechanical properties measuring and monitoring device

The present invention relates to an intraocular pressure measuring and/or monitoring device () comprising a contact lens () presenting an inner surface () and an outer surface (), and a pressure sensor () united with said contact lens () and located such that it is applied against an eye () of a user for sensing the intraocular pressure (IOP) of said eye () when said contact lens () is worn by said user, characterized in that said contact lens () comprises a soft portion () and a rigid portion (), said rigid portion () being adapted to at least partially rigidify a central portion of the inner surface () of said contact lens () so as to maintain said rigidified inner surface () with a curvature radius adapted to flatten at least a portion of the eye surface in contact with the pressure sensor () so as to reach a pressure equilibrium around the pressure sensor () when said contact lens () is worn by said user.

Intraocular pressure measuring and/or monitoring device

This disclosure provides a method for determining the likelihood of being at or beyond a certain rate and/or risk of visual field progression (VFP) of a user, that may include measuring ocular biomechanical properties (OBP) through a continuous-wear sensor placed on or implanted in the eye; recording the user's ocular biomechanical properties in the form of at least one OBP time series plot in a recorder, a processing step wherein at least one of a plurality of OBP parameters are extracted from the recorded OBP time series plot; a calculation step wherein the at least one of a plurality of OBP parameters are associated to VFP, and a determining step wherein one determines whether the visual field progression is at or beyond a certain VFP threshold and/or the probability that the said visual field progression is comprised within a specific range.

Device and methods for monitoring a visual field progression of a user

The invention relates to a method for determining the likelihood of being at or beyond a certain rate and/or risk of visual field progression (VFP) of a user, comprising the following steps: an installing step (S) comprising placing or implanting a continuous-wear sensor on or in an eye of a user; a measuring step (S) comprising measuring ocular biomechanical properties (OBP) through the continuous-wear sensor placed on or implanted in the eye, with said measurement comprising repeated data capture at regular time intervals; a recording step (S) comprising recording the user's ocular biomechanical properties in the form of at least one OBP time series plot in a recorder; a processing step (S) wherein at least one of a plurality of OBP parameters are extracted from the at least one recorded OBP time series plot; a calculation step (S) wherein the at least one of a plurality of OBP parameters are associated to VFP; a determining step (S) wherein one determines whether the visual field progression is at or beyond a certain VFP threshold and/or the probability that the said visual field progression is comprised within a specific range; a predicting step (S) wherein based on the determined VFP, one predicts the probability of a patient to develop a glaucoma, and a judging step (S) for judging of a specific medical treatment based on the above prediction result.
