A radar, flying device including such a radar, processing method in a radar embedded in a flying device and associated computer program are disclosed. In one aspect, the radar includes a transceiver antenna including a plurality of radiating elements configured to transmit and receive an electromagnetic wave. The radar includes an antenna gain control unit, by activating/inhibiting radiating elements, in transmission and/or reception configured to keep the reception level of an electromagnetic wave below a determined threshold below the saturation zone of the antenna, as well as by activating/inhibiting radiating elements in reception, configured to compensate the amplitude variation of the ground/sea clutter, over the duration of the reception.

A radar system configured to determine radar-ground distance measurements. The radar system includes transmission and reception means configured to transmit two radiofrequency signals towards the ground and to receive the signals obtained by the reflection of the two transmitted signals by the ground and computation means configured to determine the frequential representations of the transmitted signals and of the received signals and determine a frequential quantity as a function of the frequential representations. The radar system is wherein the computation means are configured to sample the frequential quantity over a determined number of samples, which provides a sampled signal; determine a number of frequency measurements as a function of a constant distance measurement accuracy value; determine frequency measurements by applying to the sampled signal a spectral decomposition by fast Fourier transform using a decimation of the sampled signal in a ratio dependent on the distance measurement accuracy value, and determine a distance measurement corresponding to each frequency measurement.

A device for the radio stimulation of an antenna includes at least one transmission sub-assembly formed by an array of radiating elements and an array of photoelectric receivers; as well as a generator that synthesizes a set of electrical signals that are intended to excite each radiating element. The electrical signals are transmitted to the transmission sub-assembly in the form of modulated light waves that are multiplexed to form a composite laser beam that illuminates the array of photoelectric receivers. Each of the photoelectric receivers receives a light wave. The array of photoelectric sensors and the array of radiating elements have substantially identical arrangements. Each photoelectric receiver is connected to a radiating element in its array at a position identical to the one that said receiver occupies within its own or a position symmetrical thereto.

Leaky wave antenna of AFSIW structure comprising a top substrate layer and a bottom substrate layer sandwiching an intermediate layer comprising a longitudinal aperture of length L defining a waveguide and whose width Wis delimited by two conductive lateral walls. The inner faces of the conductive lateral walls are coated with a layer of dielectric material of thickness w(z). The top layer has a longitudinal radiating slot of width Wf (z) facing the longitudinal aperture of the intermediate layer. The thickness w(z) of the dielectric coating varies along the longitudinal axis z according to a given law, defined so as to obtain variations along the axis z of the amplitude Alpha(z) and of the phase Beta(z) of the leaky wave of the guide.

Leaky wave antenna in AFSIW technology

A stimulation device notably for testing radio reception devices is provided. It includes a signal generator delivering an amplitude-phase law for beam-forming purposes, transmitted in the form of a composite laser beam which illuminates a matrix of photodiodes of an emission subassembly with active modules separate from the generator, each wavelength of the beam carrying one of the signals defining the amplitude-phase law, intended for an active module. The device comprises means for measuring the orientation of the composite laser beam relative to the matrix of photodiodes of the emission subassembly and the distance traveled by the beam thereto, and correcting the phase law generated by the signal generator so as to neutralize the stray phase-shifts induced by these parameters on the signals transmitted to the emission subassembly.

Radiant-panel radio stimulation device

The method carries out a measurement of the distance from the ground of an aircraft by undertaking the emission of waveforms making it possible to obtain, after demodulation, of the signals received in return and sampling of the demodulated signals at a frequency F, two signals E*(t) and E*(t), taking the form of two frequency ramps, of respective slopes Kand K, of respective passbands Band Band of respective durations Tand T, the N-point FFT spectral analysis of which is carried out. The values of the durations Tand Tas well as those of the passbands Band B, are defined in such a way as to be able to determine, on the basis of the spectra of the signals E*(t) and E*(t), a measurement of non-ambiguous distance dcovering the maximum distance dto be instrumented and an ambiguous distance dexhibiting the desired distance resolution. The distance d to be measured being determined by combining these two measurements.
