The method includes tracing a score line on the surface of the glass, using a scoring tool, and breaking out using a local pressure system applied on the opposite face and opposite the score line, the local pressure system being moved and pressed along the score line on the opposite face.

Method for breaking out a sheet of glass

A machine for breaking out an inner shape in a glass sheet, includes a cutting tool and a displacement system to produce a cutting line on a first side of the glass sheet that delimits an outer contour of the inner shape and an inner contour of a peripheral shape; a bearing system to bear against a second side of the sheet along the outer contour of the inner shape; a deformation system to deform one of the inner and peripheral shapes by convex bending toward the second side, the convex bending creating a differential deformation between the inner and peripheral shapes to break out the inner shape along the cutting line and separate the inner shape from the peripheral shape so that a distance needed for a contactless extraction is created, and an extraction system to extract the inner or peripheral shape while the convex bending is maintained.

Process for breaking out an inner shape in a glass sheet

The process relates to the manufacture of a plurality of glazings of complex shape from a rectangular sheet of float glass of large dimensions. The process includes at a first station for cutting the glass sheet, scoring at least one cutting line corresponding to at least one ready-to-shape edge of the glazings; a first breaking operation; at a second cutting station, scoring at least one cutting line corresponding to at least one other ready-to-shape edge of the glazings, and a second breaking operation.

Process for manufacturing glass sheets of complex shape

A break-out process includes scoring a cutting line in the surface of the glass using a cutting tool, which cutting line delimits the outer contour of the inner shape and the inner contour of a peripheral shape; bringing the peripheral shape of the glass sheet into contact with a bearing system along the outer contour of the inner shape; the use of a deformation system for deforming one of the inner shape and of the peripheral shape by convex bending toward the side opposite the cutting line. The differential deformation between the inner shape and the peripheral shape is sufficient to break out the inner shape along the cutting line and create the distance needed for the contactless extraction of the inner shape relative to the peripheral shape. The extraction is carried out while maintaining the convex bending.

A grinding wheel is suited for shaping glass, notably glass that is less than or equal to 4 mm thick. This grinding wheel has at least one abrasive portion formed of at least one metal binder and of diamonds distributed in the binder. The binder has a Rockwell B hardness of between 95 and 105 and is tungsten-based. The diamonds have a size of between 75 and 95 &#x3bc;m and a concentration of between 2.2 ct/cmand 2.64 ct/cm. Glass, in particular for shaping motor-vehicle glazing units, can be shaped with this grinding wheel, making it possible to achieve travel speeds greater than or equal to 30 m/min.

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a printed laminated glazing unit composed of two glass sheets separated by an interlayer adhesive sheet, comprising the steps consisting in screen printing, with a printing composition, at least one face of one of the sheets making up the glazing unit using a screen printing screen; and in assembling the various sheets making up the glazing unit, at least one of which has been screen printed. In this process a screen printing screen is used that comprises two superimposed fabrics, the fabric (I) intended to be placed opposite the face to be screen printed having a smaller mesh opening than the other fabric (S), the difference in mesh opening between the two fabrics lying in the range from 22 to 65 &#x3bc;m.
