A configurable deflection system for an incident microwave frequency beam exhibiting a wavelength contained in a band of wavelengths corresponding to the microwave frequencies, comprising: a first and a second diffractive dielectric component suitable for each performing a rotation about a rotation axis Z, the deflection system being suitable for generating a microwave frequency beam by diffraction of the incident microwave frequency beam on the first and second components, the microwave frequency beam being oriented according to an angle that is a function of the angular positioning between the first and said second diffractive components, the first and second components respectively exhibiting a first and second periodic structure of first and second periods according to a first and second axis, the first and second structures respectively comprising a plurality of first and second primary microstructures formed respectively on a first and second substrate of first and second substrate refractive indices.

Configurable microwave deflection system

The present invention relates to the production of reflectarray antennas, that is to say antennas consisting of a primary illumination source and a phase-shifting plate consisting of an array of cells each having a coefficient of reflection the phase of which is electronically controlled. According to the invention, each cell consists of a waveguide element closed at one of its ends by a dielectric substrate wafer carrying an electrical circuit formed by three parallel conducting strips. A variable capacitor, produced either in MEMS technology or by means of a ferroelectric element, is implanted by means of bonding wires on the electrical circuit etched on the substrate. The shape and the arrangement of the three parallel conducting strips constituting the electrical circuit and the way in which the variable capacitor is connected to this circuit make it possible to form, in the plane of the substrate, a phase shifter circuit, the phase shift of which may vary almost continuously over a wide range of variation. Advantageously, the phase shifter circuit thus formed occupies a small volume. The invention applies to the production of dual-polarization reflectarray antennas.

This invention relates to an apparatus for emission and/or reception of electromagnetic waves for aerodynes, characterised in that it comprises a blade antenna on the top of the fuselage of the aerodyne, a principal reflect-array arranged horizontally at the bottom of the blade antenna, a principal illumination horn arranged at the summit of the blade antenna, the horn illuminating the principal reflect-array, two secondary reflect-arrays arranged vertically on each side of the faces of the blade antenna, two secondary illumination horns arranged at the bottom of the blade antenna in the plane of the principal reflect-array, each horn illuminating one of the secondary reflect-arrays, each reflect-array reflecting waves emitted by the illumination horn illuminating it.

A monopulse source for a focal feed antenna including at least two waveguides machined in a metal flange supporting a microwave transmission and reception circuit of the antenna, and a dielectric substrate on the metal flange. Also included is a microwave short-circuit having an opening with a smaller dimension than a dimension of a respective waveguide. The microwave short-circuit is mounted on the dielectric substrate such that an axis of the microwave short-circuit coincides with an axis of the respective waveguide. Further, a transition positioned on the dielectric substrate and within the opening of the microwave short-circuit is configured to couple the respective waveguide.

An auto-test device for a radar includes at least one transducer located in the field of radiation of the radar microwave transmission, the transducer being configured to intersect a part of the radiated energy and to send it back to a receiver so as to create, in the receiver, a test signal modulated by beats of the transducer. The device further includes a synchronism mechanism configured to excite the transducer in synchronism with a sub-multiple of the frequency of sampling of a reception signal. The transducer is placed such that the receiver receives a test signal with a mean value close to zero.

A load for a stripline integrated into a three-plate structure is formed by a resonant cavity filled with absorbent material. The resonant cavity is defined by metallized holes extending through the three plates. The holes are spaced no more than 1/4 wavelength apart and can extend along the length of the stripline to form an opening of the resonant cavity. The structure of the load allows its size to have the same height and width of the stripline.
