A connector housing of a modular electrical plug connector system comprises a plurality of substantially identical passages arranged side by side. Each passage is configured to accommodate and lock an electrical connector module of a first predetermined type. At least one passage comprises an adapter receiving interface configured to receive, in a removable manner, an adapter for supporting and locking an electrical connector module of a second predetermined type, different from the first predetermined type.

An electrical connector comprises a casing and a connector module. The casing has a retaining member. The connector module has an electrically insulating contact carrier and a plurality of electrically conductive contacts. The connector module is at least partially surrounded by the casing and is retained at the casing by the retaining member. The retaining member exerts a retaining force on the connector module in a direction along a mating direction of the electrical connector. The connector module is removable from the retaining member in a direction transverse to the mating direction.

Electrical connector allowing disassembly, electronic module, and assembly method

An electrical connector plug includes a plug body and a lever. The plug body mates with a socket. The lever is rotatably mounted on the plug body. The lever has a pair of socket locking members arranged on opposite sides of the plug body and a pair of elastic blades arranged on opposite sides of the plug body. The socket locking members are movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The blades bear against the plug body and bias the socket locking member permanently into the locked position. The lever further includes a base having a pair of arms extending there from. The arms are arranged on opposite sides of the plug body and rotatably mount the lever on the plug body. The blades are connected to the base through an extension extending there between.

Electrical connector plug

A tab terminal comprises a box-shaped body section having short circuit cantilever beam spring members projecting outwardly from side walls thereof. The terminals are for mounting in a connector assembly matable to a complementary connector assembly for applications such as automotive airbags where a short circuiting function is required between adjacent terminals of a connector assembly. Spring members of adjacent terminals thus abut and electrically contact each other when mounted in a connector assembly that is disconnected. The complementary connector assembly has a wall portion that is insertable between the contacting spring members for separation thereof when the assemblies are mated. Due to the distribution of flexible movement between spring members of both adjacent contacts, and due to the integration of the spring members within the terminals, a more compact connector assembly can be provided, and furthermore stresses are reduced within the short circuiting spring members in comparison to the prior art.
