An extensible protection system, comprises a frame that can be deployed around a central tube of longitudinal axis, comprising two ends, a frame covering fabric, the frame having at least two pairs of rigid tubes, two rigid tubes of one pair, in a respective axial plane passing through the longitudinal axis, being articulated by one of their ends to a respective yoke, of which yokes one is secured to one of the ends of the central tube, and the other is secured to the other end of said central tube, the other free ends of the rigid tubes being able to move in the axial plane of the pair, one semirigid tube per pair of rigid tubes, in said axial plane of the pair, comprising at each of its ends a piston, each piston of a semirigid tube being able to slide fluidtightly in each one of the rigid tubes of the pair in order to form a pressurizing chamber in each of the rigid tubes, the protection system further comprising a device for pressurizing the chambers of the rigid tubes in order to cause the pistons to move in the rigid tubes and cause the system to change from a folded position to a deployed position.

Extensible protection system

The present invention relates to the field of propellant devices and more particularly to the propellant devices used in weapon systems and munitions. The invention has the two advantages of minimizing the risk associated with accidental attack to which propellant devices may be exposed thanks to the filling of the central channel commonly provided along the core of the cylindrical explosive charge and of greatly increasing the effectiveness of these propellant charges by the use of explosive materials having a very high burn rate.

Propellant device of enhanced performance

The invention relates to the field of the protection of structures such as terrestrial buildings, vehicles or else ships, against attacks operated by means of hollow charges. It applies in particular to the protection of armoured vehicles. The subject of the invention is a module for embodying a lightweight and mobile reactive armour comprising at least one electrically conducting external wall and one electrically conducting internal wall and forming two electrodes between which is applied a very high voltage, the said walls defining an inter-electrode space, as well as an electrically conducting internal tridimensional mechanical structure, of low density, in electrical contact with the internal wall. The module according to the invention is intended to be placed between the object to be protected and the hollow charge, the internal tridimensional mechanical structure being positioned between the electrodes and the object to be protected. The module according to the invention makes it possible to increase the effectiveness the destruction of the jet by lengthening the destruction by fusion and vaporization during the traversal of the internal tridimensional mechanical structure.

Module structure for electrical armour plating

A warhead includes an explosive charge placed in a confinement casing and bounded towards a front portion by a liner, the entire warhead having an axis of symmetry of revolution. A detector is provided in front of the charge and processing and command circuits are provided in a rear portion of the charge. A multiple-point detonator is communicated with an axial space providing a detector-circuit link without harming the efficiency of the charge.
