A measurement device for measuring an angular position of a movable body that is rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to a stationary body, the device comprising, facing each other, a movable portion with a first printed circuit having first tracks formed thereon defining a plurality of target patterns and a stationary portion with a second printed circuit having second tracks formed thereon defining a plurality of measurement patterns that are angularly distributed in regular manner. The target patterns are angularly distributed in irregular manner, the number of target patterns is not less than two, and the product of the number of target patterns multiplied by the number of measurement patterns is not less than twelve.

Device for measuring an angular position of a movable body relative to a stationary body

A measurement method for measuring the position of a movable body that is movable relative to a fixed body, the measurement method making use of a measurement device comprising a fixed portion for securing to the fixed body and a movable portion for securing to the movable body, the fixed portion including a first printed circuit () having formed thereon first tracks () defining at least one emission pattern () and also a plurality of measurement patterns (), the movable portion including a second printed circuit () having formed thereon second tracks () defining at least one reception pattern () and also at least one target pattern (), the first and second printed circuits being coupled together electromagnetically in such a manner that, when the emission pattern is excited by an excitation signal, an induced signal is received by the reception pattern and is then re-emitted by the target pattern, the measurement patterns then picking up measurement signals that are representative of the position of the target pattern, and thus also of the second printed circuit, of the movable portion, and of the movable body.

A sensor for sensing angular movement of an object with a structure. Mounted on the structure are a stationary first portion and a second portion that is movable in rotation carrying respectively a first printed circuit and a second printed circuit centered on the axis of rotation and that face each other and that include conductive areas for forming capacitive sectors and, respectively, a primary excitation winding and a secondary excitation winding connected to the conductive areas of the second printed circuit; the first printed circuit being connected to an electronic control circuit arranged to create excitation signals that are transmitted by the first printed circuit to the second printed circuit by magnetic coupling, and to demodulate signals transmitted by the second printed circuit to the first printed circuit by capacitive coupling.
