A coupler is disclosed that employs hall-effect sensing technology. Specifically, the coupler is configured to produce an output voltage by converting the magnetic field generated by a current conductor at an input side. The output and input sides may be electrically isolated from one another but may be coupled via the hall-effect sensing technology, such as a hall-effect sensor. The output and input sides may be provided in an overlapping configuration.

Hall-effect sensor isolator

An optocoupler with a light guide defining element is presented. The light guide defining element has at least one cavity configured to define the shape of the light guide formed by a transparent encapsulant encapsulating the optical transmitter and receiver dies. The transparent encapsulant in liquid form may be injected into the cavity prior to a curing process to harden the encapsulant into a light guide with a predetermined shape. The cavity of the light guide element may be defined by a reflective surface having micro-optics formed thereon. A multichannel optocoupler with multiple transmitter and/or receiver dies having such light guide defining element is also presented. The light guide defining element may have a single cavity enveloping all the optical transmitter or receiver dies, or a multiple cavities by having a pair of transmitter and receiver dies inside each cavity.

Optocoupler with light guide defining element

An optocoupler with optical transmitter and receiver dies attached to a single conductive pad is presented. One of the optical transmitter and receiver dies may be attached directly to the conductive pad, while the other one of the optical transmitter and receiver dies may be attached to the conductive pad by means of three layers of materials comprising an isolation layer sandwiched between two attachment layers. A multi-channel optocoupler with multiple transmitter and/or receiver dies is also presented, in which one of the optical transmitter and receiver dies may be attached directly to the conductive pad. The other optical transmitter or receiver dies may be attached to the conductive pad by means of three layers of materials comprising an isolation layer sandwiched between two attachment layers.

Optocoupler

Double mold opto-coupler and method for manufacture. A first subassembly is formed that includes a light detector. The first subassembly is molded with a first mold material to form a molded first subassembly. A light source is attached to the molded first sub-assembly to form a second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly is molded with a second mold material to form a final assembly with predetermined dimensions.

Double mold optocoupler

A circuit for actuating a switch includes a conductive liquid switch comprising a conductive liquid droplet and a control processor configured to receive a switching signal and configured to provide at least one actuation pulse to the conductive liquid droplet to initiate movement of the conductive liquid droplet based on a duration of a time period between the switching signal and a preceding switching signal.
