The invention relates to curable compositions based on polyorganosiloxanes with special silicon-containing terminal groups, an adhesion promoter, a curing catalyst, and an additive having a ketone functional moiety. These compositions have improved mechanical and adhesion properties and excellent storage stability. The invention also relates to the uses thereof.

Curable composition comprising polysiloxane polyalkyleneglycol brush copolymers

The present invention relates to a procedure in which a functionalized polysiloxane is synthesized in the presence of a platinum catalyst, and halogen-functionalized polysiloxanes obtained according to the procedure. The procedure is defined herein by reacting a) at least one polysiloxane comprising at least one hydrogen atom bonded to a silicon atom; b) at least one heterocyclic compound; and c) at least one halogen-containing compound, wherein the reaction is catalyzed by at least one platinum catalyst. The synthetic pathway is described as a halosilation reaction in which a heterocyclic molecule is ring-opened in the presence of a platinum catalyst and a halogen source, resulting in a formal insertion of the opened heterocycle into the SiH bond. On the final product, the heteroatom of the former heterocycle is bonded to the silicon atom from the former hydrosiloxane moiety while the halogen is bonded to the last carbon atom of the opened chain.

Method for preparing halogen-functionalized polysiloxanes

The invention relates to a process for preparing polyorganosiloxanes by (i) condensation polymerization of at least one linear organosiloxane which has at least one hydroxy group or hydrolysable group bound to a silicon atom, (ii) ring-opening polymerization of at least one cyclosiloxane, or (iii) ring-opening polymerization and condensation polymerization of a mixture of at least one linear organosiloxane which has at least one hydroxy group or hydrolysable group bound to a silicon atom and at least one cyclosiloxane with a basic initiator and a hydroxy group-containing compound in the presence of a polar aprotic solvent, wherein the obtained polyorganosiloxanes are not miscible in the polar aprotic solvent at room temperature.
