Usage information of a user for a plurality of computing devices is identified. A usage pattern for each computing device of the plurality of computing devices of the user is developed based on the identified usage information of the user. An indication of the user accessing an application on a first computing device of the plurality of computing devices is received. The application requires one or more credentials for an authentication process associated with the application. A determination is made whether the user accessing the application using the first computing device is following the developed usage pattern of the user. Responsive to determining that the user accessing the application using the first computing device is not following developed usage pattern of the user, the authentication process associated with the application is interrupted.

Multi-factor authentication via multiple devices

In an approach for providing reading insight and notification on a URL with unfamiliar content for a user, a processor parses a web page to identify a URL. The URL references a subsequent web page. Prior to receiving a user interaction with the URL, a processor prefetches content of the subsequent web page. A processor determines a content domain of the prefetched content, the content domain being a summary of the prefetched content. A processor compares the content domain to a user profile, wherein the use profile is based, at least in part, on a browsing history of a user. A processor determines that the content domain is not in alignment to the user profile. A processor presents a notification to the user.

Providing reading insight on URLs with unfamiliar content

A computer-implemented method can include obtaining content-associated data. The content-associated data can include an image that corresponds to content. The method can further include obtaining a set of descriptive terms corresponding to the image. The method can further include obtaining a set of related terms, based at least in part on the set of descriptive terms. The method can further include generating a set of user-expected terms, based at least in part on the set of related terms. The method can further include obtaining the content. The method can further include comparing the set of user-expected terms to the content. The method can further include generating a similarity value based on the comparing. The method can further include determining the similarity value does not exceed a threshold. The method can further include providing a notification in response to the determining that the similarity value does not exceed the threshold.

Distinguishing web content and web content-associated data

An aspect includes generating instrumentation data for software that is executing on a computer and writing the instrumentation data to a memory located on the computer. An analytics application is provided with access to the instrumentation data. The writing the instrumentation data and the providing access are performed in real-time with respect to the generating. A request is received from the analytics application for at least a subset of the instrumentation data. Based on receiving the request, at least a subset of the instrumentation data is transmitted to the analytics application. A portion of the instrumentation data is migrated on a periodic basis to a non-volatile memory device that is external to the computer.

Examples of techniques for detecting harmful applications prior to installation on a user device are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method includes: analyzing, by a processing device, a plurality of reviews for each version of a plurality of versions of an application to determine, based on each of the plurality of reviews, whether each version of the plurality of versions is harmful; and responsive to determining that a particular version of the plurality of versions is harmful, preventing a user from installing the particular version.

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to controlling access to a mobile device with a paired device. Aspects include pairing the paired device with the mobile device and defining a security profile for the mobile device. Aspects also include receiving a user access request for a desired action via the mobile device and determining signal strength between the paired device and the mobile device. Aspects further include executing the desired action based on a determination that the signal strength is greater than a threshold in the security profile for the desired action.
