A method of manufacturing a polyolefin using a catalyst system of an ingredient (A) and ingredient (B), with ingredient A being obtained through successive reaction steps. Ingredient A is prepared by forming a mixture of (1) the combination of (a) metallic magnesium or an oxygen-containing organic compound of magnesium with (b) a mixture of a monohydroxylated organic compound and a polyhydroxylated organic compound, (2) oxygen-containing organic compounds of titanium and (3) at least one alpha-olefin having at least 4 carbon atoms, such as 1-hexene. The resulting solution is reacted in sequence with (4) at least one first halogenated aluminum compound, (5) at least one silicon compound and (6) at least one second halogenated aluminum compound. Ingredient B is an organometallic compound of metals from Group Ia, IIa, IIIa or IVa of the Periodic Table. The resulting free-flowing polyolefin is characterized by a large average particle size and small amount of fine particles.

Polyolefin catalysts and method of preparing an olefin polymer

The resulting solution is reacted in sequence with (4) at least one first halogenated aluminum compound, (5) at least one silicon compound and (6) at least one second halogenated aluminum compound. Ingredient B is an organometallic compound of metals from Group Ia, IIa, IIIa or IVa of the Periodic Table. Compositions comprising polyamides, polyolefins and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers useful as compatibilizers, related processes and articles made therefrom. A composition comprising from 50 to 99.4 percent by weight of a polyolefin, from 0.5 to 50 percent by weight of a polyamide, from 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer comprising from 50 to 95 mole percent ethylene groups and from 5 to 50 mole percent vinyl alcohol groups and less than 5.0 mole percent and preferably less than 2.0 mole percent unhydrolyzed vinyl acetate groups.

Compositions comprising polyamides, polyolefins and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers useful as compatabilizers, related processes and articles made therefrom. A composition comprising from 50 to 99.4 percent by weight of a polyolefin, from 0.5 to 50 percent by weight of polyamide, from 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer comprising from 50 to 95 mole percent ethylene groups and from 5 to 59 mole percent vinyl alcohol groups and less than 5.0 mole percent and preferably less than 2.0 mole percent unhydrolyzed vinyl acetate groups.

The present invention relates to a composition comprising crosslinkable polyethylene homopolymer, copolymer or mixture thereof. The composition includes a peroxide crosslinking agent, a crosslinking co-agent, and a metal compound having a cation selected from Group IIA and IIB of the Periodic Table of Elements. The composition is particularly useful for polymers which are formed using Ziegler-type catalysts and have complete terminal saturation. The present invention also includes a composition which has been found particularly suitable for use in critical molding processes such as rotational molding. This composition comprises a polyethylene homopolymer, copolymer, or mixture thereof. The present invention includes a method of rotational molding.
