An end cap mounting system for a lens of a lighting fixture includes a lens engagement portion having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines a cavity extending distally into the lens engagement portion from the proximal end for a cavity depth to a cavity end surface. The cavity has an inner wall with a perimeter corresponding to a first asymmetric shape of an outer profile of a lens. A central protrusion extends proximally from the cavity end surface towards the proximal end. The protrusion has an outer wall with a perimeter that corresponds to a second asymmetric shape of an inner profile of the lens. A gasket-receiving recess is positioned proximate to the cavity end surface between the outer wall of the central protrusion and the inner wall of the cavity to receive a gasket.

Lighting structure end cap mounts to secure cable without leakage paths

A dimming controller is coupled to receive an out-source current from a dimming interface for each LED driver connected thereto. Based on the out-source current received, the controller can estimate the number of connected LED drivers. When the LED driver(s) are determined to be on based on the received out-source current, the dimming controller generates and transmits a dimming control voltage. The dimming controller is programmable with relationships between the dimming control voltage and operational parameters for the certain type of LED driver and the certain type of LED load. The dimming controller then estimates the power characteristics (e.g., the input power and the output power) of the LED driver and associated LED load based on the programmed relationships. Power characteristics can accordingly be reported to the customer via a dimming controller without requiring specifically designed power measuring devices. Driver failure in the group can be reported in real time.

Dimming controller for LED driver and method of indirect power estimation

A magnetic device for an electronic circuit includes a bobbin having a bobbin body with an axial passage, a first pin rail, and a second pin rail. A winding can be disposed around the bobbin body. A core can have a core leg extending into the axial passage. The bobbin can be disposed on a printed circuit board. The core and the winding can be elevated off of the printed circuit board. The bobbin can include a first spacing member positioned between the bobbin body and the first pin rail, and a second spacing member positioned between the bobbin body and the second pin rail. The core can be positioned on the first and second spacing members such that the core is at an offset position from the first and second bobbin pin rails. The winding can additionally be offset from the first and second pin rails.

An adapter is provided for retrofitting a lighting fixture with a light emitting diode (LED) lamp. The adapter includes a pin plate and a retaining ring. The pin plate includes at least one pin extending outward from a distal side of the pin plate. The retaining ring includes a base, at least one arm, and at least one projecting member, each having inward and outward surfaces. The at least one pin restricts movement of the adapter when the adapter is rotated to a restraining position. The at least one projecting member causes the inward surface of the at least one projecting member to face the inward surface of the base. The at least one projecting member restricts movement of the adapter in a direction corresponding to an axis of rotation of the adapter using the at least one projecting member.

Adapter for retrofitting LED lamps, method of use, and lighting fixture with retrofit adapter

A light emitting apparatus includes a substrate, a light emitter mounted on the substrate, and a lens at least partially covering the light emitter, the lens defining a space about the light emitter. A heat sink is attached to the substrate. The heat sink is configured to dissipate heat from the light emitter via the substrate. The substrate includes an opening communicated with the space. A vent passage is at least partially defined between the heat sink and the substrate, the vent passage communicating the opening in the substrate with an exterior of the heat sink.
