Disclosed are pour point depressants used in compositions and methods for achieving the cold flow properties of synthetic feedstock derived from plastic. A method of obtaining the synthetic feedstock is also disclosed, which includes heating plastic under substantially oxygen free conditions at a temperature of from about 400° C. to about 850° C. to produce a pyrolysis effluent, condensing the heated a pyrolysis effluent to obtain a synthetic feedstock, recovering the synthetic feedstock, and adding a pour point depressant to the synthetic feedstock to lower the pour point.

Cold flow additives for plastic-derived synthetic feedstock

Disclosed are antioxidants used in compositions and methods to stabilize synthetic feedstock derived from plastic. Some methods disclosed herein include adding an antioxidant composition to a plastic-derived synthetic feedstock composition. Some methods disclosed herein include heating plastic under substantially oxygen free conditions at a temperature of from about 400° C. to about 800° C. to produce a pyrolysis effluent, distilling the pyrolysis effluent, recovering the synthetic feedstock, and adding a stabilizer to the synthetic feedstock to reduce contamination. The disclosure also provides compositions including a synthetic feedstock derived from plastic and an antioxidant.

Stabilizer additives for plastic-derived synthetic feedstock

Disclosed are antifouling agents used in compositions and methods to reduce or prevent foulants in synthetic feedstocks derived from plastic. A method of reducing or preventing fouling in a plastic-derived synthetic feedstock composition may include adding an antifouling agent including a carboxylic acid anhydride or a copolymer of a dicarboxylic acid anhydride and alpha olefin to a synthetic feedstock composition derived from plastic pyrolysis containing a foulant to provide treated pyrolysate. The foulant may include, for example, nylon, polyvinyl chlorides, polyethylene terephthalate, polyamides, caprolactam, benzoic acid, phenol, p-cresol, dimethylphenol, isopropyl phenol, tert-butylphenol, dimethylethylphenol, napthalenol, varying lengths of alkenes and alkanes, propylene, tolune, pentene, butane, tetramethylindole, ethylbenzene, ethyldimethylpyrrole, dimethylfuran, tetrahydroquinoline, and any combination thereof.

More specifically, the invention relates to neutralizing agents for dilution steam systems in the steam cracker process and their use for reducing acid corrosion and fouling in such systems.

Heavy amine neutralizing agents for olefin or styrene production

Disclosed herein are methods for reducing fouling caused by process water present within a water recycling loop of a pyrolysis plant. The process water includes water, a pygas, and in some cases pygas byproducts. Fouling is caused by phase separation and accumulation of materials from the process water on equipment surfaces. The method includes applying a total of about 5 ppm to 500 ppm of one or more antifouling polymers to the process water to form a treated process water. The one or more antifouling polymers are selected from the group consisting of copolymers of unsaturated fatty acids, primary diamines, and acrylic acid; copolymers of methacrylamidopropyl trimethylammonium chloride with acrylic acid and/or acrylamide; copolymers of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol; and blends of two or more thereof.

Method to disperse byproducts formed in dilution steam systems

Disclosed herein are methods for resolving emulsions formed from oils present in quench waters of ethylene manufacturing operations. The methods include adding a cationic oligomer to the base of a water quench tower having an emulsion formed therein, and collecting a water phase therefrom. The water phase can be applied to a water recycling loop within the manufacturing facility.
