The improved longitudinal support structure is used in combination with a leg brace that provides support to a wearer's leg. The improved longitudinal support structure for longitudinally supporting the leg brace provides a pivot post attached to the outer lower portion of the leg brace. A support member extends from the outer lower portion of the leg brace. The support member has apertures through it to provide longitudinal adjustment and is rotatably connected to the pivot post through one of the apertures so that an end can rotate about the pivot post. A stop post limits the rotation of the support member to a predetermined range. A rigid cross member attached to the end of the support member positioned adjacent the wearer's ankle rests atop the wearer's foot and is shaped to accept the wearer's ankle. Means for securing the rigid cross member about the wearer's ankle is provided.

Leg brace support structure

A crane comprises a lower frame having an upper frame rotatably mounted thereon. A pair of rear roadwheels are rotatably mounted on either end of an axle housing pivotally mounted on the lower frame and suspended thereunder by a pair of laterally spaced suspension cylinders. A boom, pivotally mounted on the upper frame, is adapted to be lowered and positioned forwardly of the crane when it is driven to a remote job site. During such forward positioning of the boom, either when loaded or unloaded, a cam secured to the upper frame trips an air valve for opening a pair of slave valves to communicate hydraulic fluid between the head ends of the suspension cylinders to permit the axle to oscillate. When the crane is placed in operation and the upper frame is rotated on the lower frame, the cam will release the air valve which closes the slave valves to block communication of hydraulic fluid between the suspension cylinders whereby the axle is placed in a lock-out condition of operation. The rod ends of the suspension cylinders are preferably disposed in unattached relationship adjacent to the axle housing, but could be secured thereto.

Lock out means for pivotal axle suspension cylinders

A telescopic boom is pivotally mounted on a frame of a vehicle and comprises telescopically disposed first, second, third and fourth sections. A double-acting cylinder has a rod thereof connected to the first section and a housing thereof connected to the second section. A first pulley is rotatably mounted on a forward end of the cylinder housing and a second pulley, having a larger diameter than the first pulley, is rotatably mounted on a rearward end of the cylinder housing. A first end of a cable is secured to the first section and is sequentially entrained over the first pulley, secured to the third section, entrained over the second pulley and has a second end thereof secured to a forward end of the first section. Thus, extension of the cylinder will function to extend the second section relative to the first section and simultaneously extend the third section at twice the linear speed as that of the second section. The fourth section of the boom is adapted to have a rearward end thereof connected to a forward end of the third section to substantially increase the overall working length thereof.

Extensible boom for cranes

A crane comprises a mobile vehicle having an upper frame rotatably mounted on a lower frame thereof. A boom has its rearward end pivotally mounted on the upper frame and a doubleacting hydraulic cylinder is pivotally interconnected between the upper frame and the boom to selectively raise and lower the same relative to ground level. A jib has its rearward end pivotally attached to a forward end of the boom by an elongated slot connection which permits the jib to be moved between a stored position in offset relationship adjacent to the boom and an extended position forwardly of the boom wherein the longitudinal axes of the jib and boom are parallel relative to each other.

A vehicle frame to undercarriage mounting arrangement is disclosed including a vehicle frame having a member with a substantially upstanding planar bearing surface thereon, an undercarriage for supporting the frame including a substantially upstanding planar bearing surface thereon which is engageable against the corresponding surface of the frame member, and a coupling including interlocking projection and recess means edgewardly disposed on the undercarriage and the frame member for maintaining the bearing surfaces in abutting force transmitting engagement and with the coupling resisting lateral separation thereof.
