The invention relates to a method for laminating a plastic film with a wood-base substrate, in particular for producing a high-gloss surface on a wood-base substrate, in which a plastic film is laminated by means of a laminating agent, preferably an adhesive, with a wood-base substrate and permanently bonded to the wood-base substrate, the plastic film being formed so as to be transparent on its top, and the products obtainable in this manner and their use, in particular in the area of the wood and furniture industry, for example for the production of pieces of furniture and fitments of all kinds.

Method for laminating plastic films with wood-base substrates, in particular for producing high-gloss surfaces

Disclosed is the production of isocyanate-based or silane-functional adhesive and/or coating materials in the form of reactive single-component granulates and the use thereof. In particular, the reactive one-component coating-material and/or adhesive granules of the include at least one isocyanate-reactive starting polymer and at least one diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate. Optionally, the granules of the invention may further include at least one catalyst and/or at least one wax and/or at least one resin and/or at least one preferably non-isocyanate-reactive polymer. The granules of the invention may contain an excess of diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate which amounts to 0.5% to 30 w %, and is preferably generated by free terminal isocyanate groups.

Reactive single-component coating and/or adhesive granulate

At least one isocyanate-reactive monomer is reacted with an excess of molten monomeric diisocynate to produce at least one reaction product and a maximum of 0.5 wt % of free isocyanate groups. The reaction product is then mixed with at least 20 wt. %, based on the total weight of reaction product, of at least one isocyanate-terminated prepolymer which is essentially free of diisocyanate monomers and has a viscosity at 20&#xb0; C. of at least 1.500 mPa&#xb7;s, the isocyanate-terminated prepolymer having a content of free NCO groups of up to 25 wt % and containing a maximum of 0.1 wt. % of diisocyanate monomer(s) based on the weight of the isocyanate-terminated prepolymer. A polyurethane composition containing less than 0.1 wt. % of monomeric diisocyanate, based on the total weight of the resulting polyurethane composition, is produced.

Polyurethane compositions with a low content of diisocyanate monomer(s)

Disclosed is a multicomponent, isocyanate-terminated or silane-functionalized coating and adhesive material which is continuously produced by mixing the individual components and by heating the latter and continuing mixing until said components reach a liquid state, wherein the resulting reactive coating and adhesive material is fed for direct use especially in profile sheathing plants, coating plants or the like. In the case of isocyanate-terminated material, one component has a reactive high-molecular weight starting polymer and a second component has a reactive isocyanate-terminated cross-linking agent. In the case of the silane- functionalized material, one component has a high-molecular weight starting material and a second component has a reactive, silane-functionalized cross-linking agent.

Multicomponent coating and adhesive material

A self-supporting reactive hot-melt adhesive element of a reactive one-component hot-melt adhesive which is solid at room-temperature. The adhesive element comprises at least one isocyanate being solid or liquid at room-temperature; and at least one isocyanate-reactive polymer and/or resin being solid at room-temperature. Also disclosed is a process of producing said adhesive element as well as its application and use, in particular in a hot-melt adhesive bonding process.

Disclosed is a storage-stable, essentially aqueous one component dispersion, of a deactivated isocyanate and a isocyanate-reactive polymer which cross-links at low temperatures.
