An apparatus for delivering web material or the like from rolls comprises a rotatable holder that holds a plurality of web supply rolls and for each roll is provided with a separate support member for supporting the free end of a portion of the web unwound from the roll. The roll holder is movable between a plurality of positions in each of which one of the supply rolls is in an active position at a location where a portion of its web can be unwound and transported over a cutting edge provided on the related support member, and where a cutting element separate from the holder can be operated to cut off a sheet of required length from the unwound material of the positioned supply roll by cooperation with the related cutting edge.

Apparatus for delivering web material or the like from rolls

In an apparatus for copying sheetlike originals, wherein a transport system feeds originals from a positioning surface onto an exposure plate and from the latter after exposure to a receiving tray, the positioning surface presents at least two distinct areas upon each of which an original can be laid ready to be fed in for copying and each area is bordered by a lateral arrest so that plural originals laid ready in the areas and against the arrests will be fed together to exact positions on the exposure plate for copying on one sheet of receiving material in one copying run of the apparatus. A system of open-front trays for piles of originals, each aligned with one of the positioning surface areas, facilitates the laying of originals in ready position. A control system responds to sensed presence of a complete set of originals in ready position to start a run. A special mask assembly is provided on the exposure plate to receive a set of originals and expose select areas of them for copying, as for producing plural prize credit notes by copying simultaneously from plural game forms such as lotto entry forms.

Apparatus for copying from plural sheetlike originals

Device for the assorted collection of sheets, comprising a transport track and bins situated along this track. The bins are provided with guide organs and each bin can be moved so that its guide organ protrudes into the track so as to guide a sheet into a bin. In the transport track the sheets are transported by means of belts running around a vacuum holddown device so as to hold the sheets onto the belts.

Sorting device

A device for covering the exposure plate of a copying apparatus includes a belt driven at intervals for transporting sheetlike originals from a ready position on the device to a copying position in which an original is covered and pressed on the plate by the belt, and the belt is so mounted and positioned that the same device serves for covering and pressing books and other objects of irregular dimensions placed on the plate for copying. A control circuit is provided which coordinates operations of the belt drive with the starting of operation of the copying apparatus and the presence of a sheetlike original in ready position.

Copying apparatus with device for transporting sheetlike originals yet

An apparatus for conveying a sheetlike original to be copied through the exposure section of a copying machine and back again when multiple copies are desired includes an original return means having at least two sets original sheet gripping and conveying elements which have been mounted in a common supporting element which can be displaced cyclically to a number of positions, whereby, in each position of the supporting element and with the return means activated, one set occupies a position located in the path of movement of an original leaving the exposure section, and another set occupies a second position located in the path of movement joining the entry to the exposure section. The apparatus further includes switching elements for switching the gripping and conveying elements of each set on and off, whereby the gripping elements are switched off and the conveying elements are switched on as soon as a set arrives into the second position, and the gripping elements are switched on and the conveying elements are switched off when a set is in the first position and after an original has been taken up by the gripping element in this set by at least its leading edge, and means for displacing the supporting element after the trailing edge of an original has passed the entry of the exposure section. Each set of gripping and conveying elements may comprise a pair of rollers which can be driven so that the leading edge of the original can be gripped with the risk of damage minimized while the gripping element allows a wrinkled or folded edge of the original to pass without difficulty.

Apparatus for conveying sheetlike original material to be copied

A collating apparatus is mounted above a copying machine and includes a housing frame enclosing a conveying mechanism for conveying sheets from the copy-ejection part of the copying machine along a vertical path alongside of which are positioned horizontal trays for receiving the copy sheets as collated. The trays have associated therewith guide elements which are balanced in equilibrium in a first position in which they project into the conveying path to guide sheets into their corresponding trays and which are activated by the receipt of a sheet in the tray to a second position in which they are moved out of the path. The guide elements are locked in this second position by pawl-like locking elements until all locking elements are released by an unlocking means activated by the copy machine start button. The trays, the guide elements and the locking and unlocking elements are supported in a structure which is pivotally connected to the frame enclosing the conveying mechanism at a location which provides the closest proximity to the machine operator so that easy access to the mechanism for maintenance is possible. The entire collating apparatus is so mounted on the copying machine that, when viewed in the horizontal plane, it is fully within the perimeter of the copy machine, does not require any additional floor space and is unaffected by placement near walls or in corners.
