The invention relates to a method for reprofiling wheelsets () rotatably mounted in axle bearing housings () on rail vehicles on underfloor wheelset lathes () equipped with machining tools, a machine control for the machining tools, drive rollers (), axial guide rollers (), measuring rollers () as well as clamping devices () to engage the axle bearing housings (). The method is characterised in that the wheelset () is lifted off the rail using the drive rollers (), weighing it in the process, the axle bearing housings () are fixed between the drive rollers () and the clamping devices (), an axial guide roller () is adjusted to touch the inner side () of each of the two wheels () of the wheelset () and fixed in this position, an additional force () is applied to the drive rollers (), that the actual diameter () and the wear profile of each wheel () is determined by means of a measuring roller (), that the smaller actual diameter is determined based on the measurement results and, it having been modified by a specified machining allowance, entered as the nominal diameter () into the machine control for the machining tools.

Method for reprofiling wheelsets on underfloor wheel lathes

A deep rolling machine has a power unit () attached in a gate () such that the power unit () can be moved in the direction of force exertion (). The power unit () is connected, with articulation, at one end (), via a joint (), to the end () of a shearing arm () of the deep rolling unit (). The free end () of the gate () is fit with a back up roller () that is routed along a curved web (), defined in a gap in the second end () of the shearing arm (). In the closed position of the power unit (), three joints () form a triangle (). One of the joints () points to the rotating joint (). A measuring instrument has a first section for rolling a wheelset under lateral guidance of the wheelset into a measurement section with an auxiliary rail for supporting the wheelset on the outer edges of its wheels and a third section for rolling out the wheelset into the railway track, with the first and third section of the measuring instrument also designed as track panels and for which the optical beam devices under the measurement section are intended. The first and third section of the measuring instrument are flexibly embedded in the ballast of the superstructure of the railway track, while at least one of the optical beam devices is mounted vibration-free on the formation of the railway track in a pre-determined position in relation to the measurement section of the measuring instrument with no contact to the other parts of the measuring instrument.

Measuring instrument for determining the actual condition of wheel sets

The invention relates to a method for deep rolling the passes or radii on the transitions between journal and cheeks or flanges of crankshafts by means of a deep rolling device () of a deep rolling machine, said deep rolling device having a lazy tongs-type design. The deep rolling device () has two tongs arms () that are articulated to each other via a pivot joint (). The corresponding outer ends () of the tongs arms () are provided with a deep rolling tool () or a force generator () for generating the deep rolling force. A measuring tape () and a sensor () which are provided on the pivot joint () are used to measure the impression depth of the deep rolling rollers () under the effect of the deep rolling force. A measuring device () mounted on the exterior () of a tongs arm () is used to measure the degree by which the tongs arm () bends under the effect of the deep rolling force.
