An inspection device in a radiation protection housing comprises an electromagnetic radiation-based inspection device, especially an X-ray device and a weighing device. The inspection device an endless conveyor belt for transporting products in a transport direction from an entry region to an inspection region, from there to a region for weighing, and from there to an exit region of the inspection device. An upper run of the endless conveyor belt in its path from the region for weighing to the exit region, traverses a height difference in in a height direction by means of an inclined region. The conveyor belt circulates around at least part of the inclined region and the weighing device, looking in the transport direction, is disposed immediately in front of the inclined region in the inspection device.

An apparatus includes a switch cabinet and a device housing. The device housing is adapted to accommodate a component of a device and the switch cabinet is adapted to accommodate electrical equipment for the device. The switch cabinet is operable to be moved between an open position and a closed position relative to the device housing. When in the closed position a wall of the switch cabinet closes off an opening in the device housing, and when in the open position the wall of the switch cabinet is removed from the opening in the device housing so as to expose that opening.

A sorter for sorting out discrete products includes an arrangement of adjacent sorting fingers. The sorting fingers, depending on pivoted positions, open a sorting gap in a conveying path for bad products to be sorted out or else close the sorting gap in order to support the further conveying of good products.

A rejector device for rejecting discrete products from a product stream includes a transporting means, a rejecting means, and at least two collection containers. The rejecting means can reject the products of the product stream either into one collection container or into the other. In the process, the products are rejected either towards one side of the transporting means or towards the other. The arrangement of the collection containers one above the other on one side of the transporting means makes it possible for the operator to remove products from both collection containers from one side of the rejector device.

In mail-weighing machines the values determined by a weight measuring device (20) are supplied in digital form to a programmable set-value store (27). The set-value store (27) and the codifier (23) supplying the digital, measured values are connected to the display device (24) via a first multiplexer (26) which alternatively supplies to the display device (24) the output signal (25) of the codifier (23) or that of the set-value store (27). In a manually-actuable selector device (38), different postage tariffs can be set which conform to different groups of addresses of the set-value store. The output of the first multiplexer (26) is one input to a second multiplexer (31). A time clock (32) or other source of information is connected to the other input of the second multiplexer (31). A sensor (34) controls the second multiplexer (31) so that the second multiplexer (31) so that the second multiplexer (31) supplies the signal from the first multiplexer (26) to the display device (24) during a weighing operation and the signal from the time clock (32) at other times.
