Various embodiments of a balloon catheter and related methods are disclosed. In particular, one exemplary embodiment of a balloon catheter may include a balloon having an inlet opening for receiving inflation fluid and a one-way valve disposed in the inlet opening to allow inflow of the inflation fluid into the balloon while substantially preventing backflow of the inflation fluid from the balloon. The catheter may also include an elongated shaft comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends. The shaft may be configured to supply the inflation fluid to the balloon through the lumen and to releasably couple the balloon to the distal end of the shaft.

Catheter with releasable balloon and related methods

Balloon systems for treating bifurcated lumens include desirable burst and folding characteristics. In some cases, the balloon systems can be formed by varying the wall thickness of a balloon parison.

Balloon bifurcated lumen treatment

A stent delivery assembly comprises a balloon catheter with a rotatable assembly disposed thereabout. The rotatable assembly comprises a rotatable sheath which in a reduced state is freely rotatable about the medical balloon and when in the expanded state is frictionally engaged by the expanded balloon. A secondary guide wire housing is at least partially engaged to the rotatable sheath. A stent may be disposed about at least a portion of the rotatable sheath and at least a portion of the secondary guide wire housing so that a distal end portion of the secondary guide wire housing exits the flow path of the stent through one of the plurality of cell openings which the stent defines.

Rotating balloon expandable sheath bifurcation delivery

An embolic protection filter and method of making the same. An embolic protection filter may include a filter membrane or material having a plurality of holes. In some embodiments, the filter membrane may be manufactured by spray coating a filter material onto a forming member or spray mold.

Filter membrane manufacturing method

A stent delivery system which has a catheter including an inflatable portion. A stent being disposed about the inflatable portion of the catheter, the stent having a contracted state and an expanded state. A pair of stent retaining sleeves which are partially composed of PTFE, each sleeve having a first end portion overlying a respective end of the stent, each sleeve having a second end portion respectively attached to the catheter, the sleeves retaining the stent to the catheter when the stent is in the contracted state, the stent being freed from the sleeves when the stent is placed in the expanded state. The sleeves being placed on the stent by heat shrinking. The inflatable portion of the balloon optionally having stepped compliant characteristics.

Stent securement sleeves and optional coatings and methods of use

A stent delivery system which utilizes a stent delivery catheter to deliver a stent into a body lumen. The stent delivery catheter being equipped with at least one stent retaining sleeve. The at least one stent retaining sleeve having an inside surface and an outside surface. The inside surface, outside surface, or both, having a coating which is lubricious.

End sleeve coating for stent delivery

A stent delivery system which utilizes a stent delivery catheter to deliver a stent into a body lumen. The stent delivery catheter being equipped with at least one stent retaining sleeve. The at least one stent retaining sleeve having an inside diameter and an outside diameter. The inside diameter having a surface which is lubricious.

The present invention relates to a stent delivery system in which a catheter carries on its distal end portion a stent which is held in place around the catheter prior to and during percutaneous delivery by means of one, and preferably two, end sleeves. The sleeves are positioned around the catheter with one end portion of each sleeve associated thereto. The other end of each sleeve overlaps an end portion of the stent to hold it in place on the catheter in a contracted condition. The present invention provides an improvement with respect to lubrication of the sleeve prior to its assembly with the catheter. A preferred way of lubricating the sleeve is by incorporating a lubricant additive within the sleeve composition.
