A surface movement, guidance and control system is provided. The system includes a plurality of base stations, disposed at a site, each base station providing a coverage area and having a known geo location and using an IP-based high data rate radio link with low latency. Each base station is adapted to receive periodic positional updates from vehicles on the site over the IP-based high data rate radio link. The system also includes a server. The server is communicatively coupled to the plurality of base stations. The server is configured to track and periodically transmit the location of the vehicles to the base stations. Each base station broadcasts vehicle position information.

In an embodiment, a method of routing packets at a first node in an ad-hoc network is provided. The method includes receiving, at the first node, a plurality of route-alive messages corresponding to a destination, each of the plurality of route-alive messages including a route time indicating a length of time in which a communicative connection is available between the second node that sent the respective route-alive message and the destination. The method also includes determining an updated route time for each second node. The updated route time corresponds to a length of time in which a communication connection is available between the first node and the destination through the respective second node. A second node is selected for sending a packet to based on the updated route time for each of the second nodes, wherein a node having a longer updated route time is given higher priority for selection.

Systems and methods for a self-organizing OFDMA system for broadband communication are provided. In certain embodiments a communication node for a self organizing network comprises a communication interface configured to transmit data to and receive data from a plurality of nodes; and a processing unit configured to execute computer readable instructions. Further, computer readable instructions direct the processing unit to identify a sub-region within a cell, wherein the communication node is located in the sub-region; and transmit at least one data frame, wherein the data from the communication node is transmitted at a particular time and frequency as defined within the at least one data frame, where the time and frequency are associated with the sub-region.

A system and method are provided for calculating Mach number and true airspeed without reference to data from a pitot static sensor. The true airspeed and Mach number are calculated using the altitude information from GPS, IRS, Radio Altimeter and other onboard sensors other than the air data computer (ADC). The computed true airspeed or Mach number could be used to confirm the ADC information or in lieu of the ADC information when the ADC information is unreliable or unavailable.

Systems and methods for incorporating determinism in the wireless domain are provided. In certain embodiments, a network for deterministic wireless communication comprises of a wireless switch and a wireless communication node, wherein the wireless communication node comprises of a processor unit configured to execute executable instructions. The executable instructions direct the processor unit to define avionics full-duplex switched Ethernet (AFDX) parameters for the formation of a virtual link between different end systems and convert the AFDX parameters into one of WiMAX and LTE parameters to define a wireless service flow between the different end systems. The executable instructions also direct the processor unit to create an AFDX schedule for communicating messages between the different end systems based on the AFDX parameters and create a schedule for one of WiMAX and LTE for communicating the messages between the different end systems over a wireless connection based on the AFDX schedule.

A method to facilitate data transfer to a line replaceable unit that lacks a transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) interface is provided. The method comprises interfacing a memory-processing card to the line replaceable unit. The memory-processing card includes a memory, a central processing unit module, an interface to the line replaceable unit, an interface to an access point communicatively coupled to the central processing unit module, and a bus arbitrator communicatively coupled to the memory, the central processing unit module, and the interfaces. The method also includes determining a state of the line replaceable unit at the bus arbitrator responsive to the interfacing, providing access at the bus arbitrator from the central processing unit module to the memory when the determined state of the line replaceable unit is OFF, and providing access at the bus arbitrator from the line replaceable unit to the memory when the determined state of the line replaceable unit is ON.
