Devices, systems and methods for selectively providing live sporting event video at sports gaming devices may include decrypting a first encrypted video signal is decrypted into a first decrypted video signal that includes a first encoded video stream of a first live sporting event. The first encoded video stream may be decoded into a first decoded video stream that includes a first video of the first live sporting event, which may be displayed by a display device along with first wager information to facilitate a user placing a wager on the first live sporting event. In response to receiving an instruction to display a second video of a second live sporting event, a second encrypted video signal may be decrypted into a second decrypted video signal that includes a second encoded video stream of the second live sporting event. The second encoded video stream may be decoded into a second decoded video stream that includes the second video of the second live sporting event. The display device may then display the second video of the second live sporting event, along with second wager information to facilitate a user placing a wager on the second live sporting event.

Selectively providing live sporting event video at sports gaming devices, and related systems and methods

A request for authorization for use of one or more peripheral devices of a wager gaming machine may be transmitted to another device (e.g., a central server) via a network. The request may, for example, include a machine-specific identifier and a peripheral identifier. The request may be sent from the wager gaming machine or from another device. The request may be sent automatically in response to certain conditions, e.g., when a peripheral device has been replaced and/or when the wager gaming machine initializes. The central server may determine (inter alia) whether the peripheral is approved for use in the registered jurisdiction and then send the appropriate authorization (or denial). Software (e.g., driver software) may accompany an authorization.

A computer system comprising a first computer coupled to a primary PCI bus via a first PCI bus switch and a second computer coupled to the primary PCI bus via a second PCI bus switch. A monitor system is coupled to both the first and second computers as well as the first and second PCI bus switches. In the event of a malfunction in the first computer, the monitor system decouples the first computer from the primary PCI bus, by opening the first PCI bus switch and coupling the second computer to the primary PCI bus by closing the second PCI bus switch.
