Thermal control system for aircraft main landing gear wheel wells and related methods are disclosed. An example thermal control system includes a conduit defining a fluid passageway between an inlet and an outlet. The inlet of the conduit positioned in fluid communication with a landing gear wheel well and the outlet of the conduit positioned in fluid communication with the atmosphere. The conduit generates a pressure differential through the fluid passageway between the inlet and the outlet to exhaust heat from the landing gear wheel well to the atmosphere.

Thermal control systems for aircraft landing gear wheel wells and related methods

Apparatus and methods for providing a desired volumetric conditioned airflow rate and for reducing noise level, airflow recirculation and airflow separation are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a nozzle housing having a pair of opposing sidewalls and a front and back wall that define an airflow passage. The airflow passage has a centerline extending between the inlet and the outlet and has a plurality of cross-sections taken perpendicular to the centerline that collectively define a smooth contour along a length of the airflow passage. The cross-sections each have a thickness between the front and back wall that is greater at side edges than at the centerline. The thickness of the cross-sections decreases along a length of at least a first portion of the nozzle housing. A width of each of the cross-sections between the sidewalls increases along the length of at least the first portion of the nozzle housing.

Three dimensional pinched airflow nozzle and methods for use thereof

A ventilation nozzle assembly is described that includes a first air outlet channel configured to provide an air flow in a first direction, a second air outlet channel adjacent the first air outlet channel configured to provide an air flow in a second direction, a third air outlet channel adjacent the second air outlet channel and configured to provide an air flow in a third direction, and a fourth air outlet channel adjacent the third air outlet channel and configured to provide an air flow in a fourth directions. An air flow from the third air outlet channel is configured reduce an impact of the air flow from the fourth air outlet channel has on the air flows from the first air outlet channel and the second air outlet channel.

Alternate directional momentum ventilation nozzle for passenger cabins

Outflow valves for use in an aircraft are described. In one example, an outflow valve for use in an aircraft includes a frame configured for coupling to an aircraft and a gate pivotally coupled to said frame. The frame includes a forward flange extending above the frame. The gate is pivotally moveable between a closed position to substantially block airflow between an interior of the aircraft and an exterior of the aircraft and an exhaust position to direct airflow from the interior toward the exterior of the aircraft. The forward edge of the gate is located adjacent the frame forward flange as the gate is pivoted between the closed position to the exhaust position.

Aircraft outflow valve

An elongated nozzle for distributing airflow in varying directions may include at least one set of channels. Each set may include a plurality of groups of channels. Each set may further include spaced-apart opposed dividers extending lengthwise along an elongated length of the nozzle, and spaced-apart channel side-walls extending between the spaced-apart opposed dividers. The opposed dividers and the spaced-apart channel side-walls may form the channels of each set. At least one of the spaced-apart opposed dividers of each set may be oriented at a first angle which is non-parallel to an imaginary vertical plane extending along the elongated length of the nozzle. Within each set, the spaced-apart channel side-walls of each group of channels may be oriented at different second angles, relative to an imaginary vertical plane extending along a width of the nozzle, than the spaced-apart channel side-walls of other groups of channels.

Diversion directional nozzle

Systems and methods for separating contaminants in a contaminated airstream are described. In one embodiment, a contaminated airstream is received and a vortex is created that separates the contaminated airstream into a clean airstream used in the system and contaminants (e.g., debris and particles).
