A fire or overheat detection device includes a diaphragm adjacent to a chamber with a gas inside the chamber, wherein the diaphragm contacts the gas. The fire or overheat detection system also includes a Fabry-Perot interferometer. At least a portion of the Fabry-Perot interferometer is coupled to the diaphragm via a linkage. A light source is configured to direct an input light into the Fabry-Perot interferometer.

Fabry-perot based advanced pneumatic fire/overheat detector

A system for detecting a fire or overheating event includes a heat detector, an optical fiber, a photodetector, and a processing unit. The pneumatic heat detector includes a sealed chamber sealed with a diaphragm having an initial position, and the optical fiber is in operable communication with the diaphragm. The optical fiber includes a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG). The optical signal generator is configured to emit an optical signal with into the optical fiber. The photodetector is configured to receive a reflected optical signal from the FBG. The processing unit is configured to correlate the reflection wavelength of the reflected optical signal with a temperature of the heat detector.

A linear detector element includes an outer sheath having a first end and a second end, one or more shape memory responsive elements within the outer sheath and between the first end and the second end and first and second conductive wires passing through at least a portion of the outer sheath and through the one or more shape memory responsive elements. The one more shape memory responsive elements include a shape memory actuator surrounding the first and second conductive wires and that has an expanded size and a contracted size and that is sized and arranged such that when the shape memory actuator is in the contracted state the first and second conductive wires contact one another and when the shape memory actuator is in the expanded state the first and second conductive wires do not contact one another.

A smoke detector includes a laser light source to provide incident light. The smoke detector also includes a Fabry-Perot etalon to transmit some incoming light, which is produced from the incident light, as transmitted light. Smoke particles in a cavity of the Fabry-Perot etalon affect an intensity of one or more wavelengths of the transmitted light.

Mounting support assemblies for fire and overheat detection systems are described. The mounting support assemblies include a support tube connector having a first portion and a second portion, wherein a captive space is defined between the first portion and the second portion, a fastener arranged at least partially within the captive space and passing through the first portion of the support tube connector, and a biasing element arranged about the fastener and positioned between an end of the fastener and the first portion of the support tube connector, the biasing element biasing the fastener in a direction toward the second portion.

Mounting assemblies for fire and overheat detection systems

A clamp fixture includes a hub extending between a first end and a second end. A first leg extends in a first direction from the first end of the hub, and a second leg extends in the first direction from the second end of the hub. At least a portion of the first leg curves away from the second leg, and at least a portion of the second leg curves away from the first leg. The clamp fixture also includes a loop with a first half and a second half. The first half includes a first jaw extending from the hub. The second half includes a flange and a second jaw extending from the flange. A fastener connects the flange to the hub such that the first jaw and the second jaw join to close the loop.
